Fashion Advice Required

Hi all,

I'm going to a wedding, and want to look smart but trendy/casual. Therefore I want to wear a suit, but being a complete fashion duffer would like advice on what to wear with it. Some trainers? A t-shirt (seems a bit mid-90s to me)? Some knitwear (I have a nice cable-knit cricket jumper ;))? I'll be wearing it all through the ceremony / day do / night do.

Thanks for any advice.

Suits with anything other than a shirt look rubbish. Unless it's a suit jacket/blazer with jeans, t and trainers and it's 2003/4. Wear a nice open-necked shirt no tie and just lose the jacket for the evening.

And hello GF! Nice to 'see' you!

And should be shoe/boots but this week a pair on Tony Wilsonesque Travel Fox trainers would be suitable homage.

but without the scarf and bag

It may look cool on him with his chissled cheekbones.

My advice would be find out what other people are wearing, if there all going traditional - do that.

You dont want to look like a tit thats made no effort.

If you did the suit w/ shirt thing, at least you could have a tie in reserve in case you're the only one who's shown up semi-casual.

Curious... do people not normally dress in suits for weddings in the UK? Alternative-style weddings aside, of course.

Why dont you wear Phil's shirt (that you havent returned from Ibiza yet!!) with a suit......;)

Love Me xxxxx

PS 10th or the 1st is no probs....

Thanks guys, nice to chat to you all again. Still have to be brief though...

It's suits all the way, but it's one of my oldest friends, his 2nd wedding, and everyone knows what I'm like. Still, I'll stick to the suit I think.

Luckily I have this fella to try things on for me!
