How was bauhaus concert? :D

Spooky 8O

Was just about to mail you and Morbyd to tell you how it went....

Quite weird really, walked into the venue and was amazed at how many people I knew from 20 years ago (and oh how the years had not been kind to many of them either  )

Ok, firstly, Danny Ash comes on stage looking like he has had more botox and filler than Joan Collins - but absolutely gorgeous!! Pete comes in from the wings in a long black velvet victorian coat (unfortunatley the years have not been kind to Pete in the way that they have been to Danny, he looked like he had just been dug up from a grave.)

However, asthetics aside, technically they were brilliant, the only thing I could really complain about was that the sound was pretty much **** for the first 20 mins, bass was incredibly loud in that it totally overpowered the vocals for much of the first few tracks. I figured it was because i was down at the front but almost in front of the rig so that could have been the problem. I did notice Pete gesturing to his mic and to the guy on the sound desk to indicate there was a prob, nothing was done about it until - he threw his mic at the sound guy and stormed off stage, followed by the drummer throwing his sticks into the crowd, walking off which left Danny playing away not quite realising for a few tense moments that the guys had left him and the guitarist to their own devices - eek a tad embarrassing for a few moments, Danny walked off followed very meekly by the guitarist Kevin

10 mins later the full band walk back on and low and behold the sound is funcking brilliant. The came on at 9.00 and played only till eleven....

Track Listing for the set was as follows:-

In the flat field
All we ever wanted
Dark Entry
Kick in the Eye
Spy in the cab
Passion of lovers
Ziggy Stardust
Mask
Spirit
Telegram Sam
Transmission
Bela Lugosi

gutted they didnt play my overall fav Lagartija Nick

overall 9/10 but forgotten just how depressing they can be ...

Well worth going to see just for the overall nostalgia - would definately go again tho.....

Enjoy your date with Pete in Feb. ;)

I don't have tickets yet, I wasn't sure to go cos the only time I saw them was such a brilliant concert that I don't want to spoil the memory (I saw Moby 6 or 7 years ago and it was a great concert, but I saw him again years later and it was a big deception)

I think I'm going to buy mine after work :D

:p At a gig a week or so ago, they did Bela Lugosi as the closing number after disappearing off stage for about 10 mins, in started with Danny, on a totally blacked out stage just a spotlight on him , followed by a spotlight on the drummer, then the guitarist and you could here Pete singing but nobody could see him........

they then realised he was hanging upside down by his feet from the rigging in a bat like stylee in a Dracula type cape, slowly being lowered to the stage - apparently it was awesome, unfortunately the ceiling height of where I saw him didnt quite work out for him to do that.....
