Has anyone been to the new Primark on Oxford Street?? I finally braved it on Friday morning - we got there at 10am and it was already busy but not too bad (altho don't even entertain trying anything on or going to Customer Services - the queue for the changing rooms was the length of the whole ground floor 8O ).

The queues for paying were quite long but they had lots of tills open so we only queued for 5 minutes or so. However we went past on a bus in the afternoon and at 2pm it was one in one out - wtf 8O Are some people mad?? Would anyone really queue up to go into Primark :? 8O

Anyway the moral of the story is that there was a lot of good stuff there (bought about 16 items for £62  ) but get there early

I heard it has 6 floors, is that true? 8O

I was in the Southend one on Sat, we have a really nice one down here, the bikinis were lovely. I love how every Primark I go to is always different!! So much choice!

No but I stooped to and all time low in the Hammersmith one by having a row with a Granny! 8O 8O
Got 2 nice Maxi dresses although I'm taking one back as Dom said it looks like I'm wearing a Burka.

No it has 2 floors  Do you know where Allders used to be on Oxford Street (up near Selfridges), it has basically taken over that so it's really long and wide.

 What happened - were you rucking over the last maxi-dress

Babs - would you say Primark is a viable alternative to Top Shop?

Irina's looking for new London shopping options now that Top Shop is about to open its 2nd store in Moscow. Around here, can't be caught wearing the same clothes as everyone else, you know... :?

The silly doughnut who told me it had 6 I thought that sounded a BIT extreme even for Primark!

No I wouldn't say it's a viable alternative - they sell a lot of rubbish, the good stuff they sell is very good but you have to rummage thru a lot of $hit to find it. I would describe it as disposable fashion - you can get a dress for £5 but you'd just wear it a few times over a couple of months and then bin it. It is really good for basics like underwear, pjs etc. It's definitely worth her checking it out for odd pieces but you wouldn't buy your whole wardrobe from there.

She's best off going to the ground floor in the big Top Shop, that's where they have all the one-off vintage and designer concession stuff, so no chance of seeing anyone else in the same ;)

A ha... good news. I'll pass that along (or she'll see it herself if she's lurking again ).

No my bag brushed her shoulder so I turned around and said 'I'm really sorry my bag just caught you' with a smile. She then gave me a look like I'd just pissed down her back.
So I said 'well I said I'm sorry' and walked off mumbling rude bint or something, and she launched at me
She was OOC shouting 'what do you want me to do laugh and say it's fine' 8O

Nasty horrible old ladyeeeee

 Sounds like your typical Primark customer  I just keep my head down and try and avoid eye contact cos I can imagine the likes of some of them punching you for the last £5 dress

Why is it so packed? I was going to go this lunch time

The one on Oxford Street - are you mental 8O  ;)

It might not be so bad on a Monday (are the kids back at school as well now??) but since it opened they've had security on the door and making people queue up from about lunchtime.

Probably lunch time isn't a good idea

I love this photo
