Face Off for real

They already did a partial transplant on a French girl last month.

In her case, she'd been horribly disfigured after being attacked by a dog. Sounded like a worthy cause.

Yes the article makes reference to that. The concern is what psychological effect it will have on the patient - who will look like a cross between the doner and their old self (only the face is transplanted, not the underlying bone structure). There are also issues relating to the donor's family - fancy having the face of someone you loved on someone else?

In addition, the drugs the patient will have to take to stop the body rejecting the new face have some pesky side effects, like fatal cancer.

Well, it's only for a few hours anyway. Then we'll kill Travolta and get our old face back

Funny that you would align yourself with Cage's evil character ;)

'She really is a peach'...
