most DVD players you can unlock easily to make them multi region - do a simple search on the internet and there'll be a sequence of button presses you can do to unlock it. Amazon tells you how to do quite a few of them

Some DVD players require you to download a file, burn it to disc and then stick it in your player.... even so, it's pretty easy to unlock them.
