We saw Example and Dj Wire one month ago at their july residency at We Are Rockstars, which has been a big success, but we knew this time it was going to be even better with the full band live show.
Dj and producer Redlight was next after the resident djs (Ste-V-Something and Colin Peters) and Doorly.
Hugh Pescod (his real name) has been djing regularly on the island in the last years, including Ibiza Rocks' musically pioneering Reclaim The Dancefloor in 2010 and We Are Rockstars last june (where he'll be again in september). Accompanied by Dread MC, he kept people dancing to the rhythm of "Switch It Off", Steve Silk Hurley's "Jack Your Body", Breach's "Jack", "Lost In Your Love", "Get Out My Head" and more, finishing with Daft Punk's "Get Lucky".
By the way, afterwards during the back-to-back between Doorly and suprise guest Skream he spinned a few more tunes!
Fifth year in a row for Elliot Gleave and his band at Ibiza Rocks, drawing bigger audiences every time.
With his fifth album expected to be out in march 2014, Example presented three new songs from it: "Take Me As I Am", "All The Wrong Places" and "Only Human" (apparently these last two will be issued as advance singles this year). Apart from all his most famous songs (basically the singles of the second, third and fourth albums), during the 70-minute set he also played his collaboration with Calvin Harris "We'll Be Coming Back". We really loved the beginning of the show with "Kickstarts", "Won't Go Quietly" and "See The Sea" taken from the second album but the whole show was spot on.
One of the busiest gigs of the season and, for sure, the highlight of many people's holiday!
The night continued at Es Paradis for a few mojitos and Pikes (where Boy George stopped for a drinkie before heading to La Troya), for the usual tomfoolery... as the host with the most Sunny said with a big grin when we saw each other, "just another night at Pikes"!
More pictures from yesterday in a few hours plus the setlist, etc...
