Do you know who came up with the term Tech-House? No? Well, it was that "Evil" Eddie Richards! He and other London based DJ's such as Terry Francis, Nathan Coles, Mr. C, Layo and Buswacka all started using it as a middle ground for the sound they liked but Eddie's influence goes further than that! His production work as Jolly Roger got him a National Top 20 hit in 1988 with 'Acid Man' after just handing over a track for Colin Favor's radio show.

At that time he was just being called a scratch-happy hardcore DJ, but his remix work did very well too and his hit single was followed by other chart topping remixes of Ralphi Rosario, Orbital and The Shamen. Richards is currently releasing his music on labels as End Recordings, Matter:/Form as well as his own Lunar Tunes.

Eddie Richards will soon release his first-ever commercial mix for Fabric's acclaimed mix series. Fabric 16 will contain music from his pals and peers from upfront labels as Casa Del Soul and Movim. His mix is released on 17th of May but in the meantime you can check him out at Fabric this Saturday when he plays at Wiggle with Terry Francis and Nathan Coles. (03/30/04)
