Seems strange that councillors are closing pubs and clubs down earlier, yet hotels and flights have gone up a lot, since last year, Weird, Guess they only want people with A LOT of money on the island now

it doesn't bode well for most of us residents either... there's various threads in this forum about it!

"Vara de Rey and its immediate surroundings are heading towards a change of model, based on the luxury tourism, show and entertainment that characterizes the island for some years. The prototype is Wesselton's luxury watchmaker in La Marina: they have three sales people and only one customer per day. It's the kind of shop there is in the Champs-Élysées of Paris, for example".

We were meant to move there a couple of years ago, but we ended up with residency of 3 grandchildren ,who were primary school age nearly 4 years ago, which put our moving plans on hold, until these kids leave school, which is another 6 years, Wonder what the island will be like in 6 years,
Hubby said if we,d sold up and moved out there ,2 years ago,in the hope of finding work,we,d probably be on our backsides now.
Wonder if the nuisances that are lucky lucky men will leave as well, the tourists the government are looking for, will have genuine items, and not want goods from lucky lucky men.
We came out on holiday last August ,we hadnt been since the kids came, and it felt a bit weird ,didnt seem to have the same energy as when we visited for years. but we still wanted to come out this year ,in the hope it was a bit better.
But with flight and hotel prices so high, not sure if we,ll be able to do it, :(.
Really hope tourists with deep pockets ,dont like Ibiza, and normal tourists can come back again.and the island can feel like it used to do, not talking about stags/hens but people who love the island,
We used to come out April then September and then occasionally November,so we like the island,in all months,

I visit the same shops every summer. Prices are steadily going up. However there is a handy low-cost supermarket in San Antonio called SUMA. I found items in there were 3 times cheaper compared to shops in Ibiza town. SUMA is always a great little place to shop near the hotels in San An especially if you're on a tight budget.

I wouldn’t have thought so - there are still loads of lucky lucky men in Marbella and they’ve been aiming at the luxury market for years. With rich kids come wannabes who will buy the fakes...

Been 4 years since i was last in ibiza, the real barometer for me of rises will be the cost of a bottle of san miguel in Pacha.

I'm going for a couple of nights in August for my 30th before my week one for closing in September. Flights from Bristol.....£970 return
