Two questionsss...
I got told its better to keep spending money in bank account and wen you get there withdraw it abroad and then exchange it while your there cos they have better exchange rates? My bank offers free withdrawls abroad so i wont have any more charges
is that a gd idea?
alsooo...
in the uk, which travel agent or place offers a better rate of euro?
atm it looks like thomsons
xx
ps thanks dan in ibiza for ya help! ha

the cash machines give you euros...

post office or marks and sparks are usually best over here

If you withdraw money abroad (Ibiza) you will be getting Euro's,no need to exchange..
I have found the Post Office or Marks & Spencer best for buying Euro's in the UK..

Normally if you go into the travel agent you booked with they'll give you a slightly better rate than the post office or elsewhere.

When i went in 2006 i took one of them cash cards whereby you load it with euros before you go then withdraw the money from the case machine. It's pretty convenient but i found that it was hard to track how much money i was spending as i'd often withdraw money when i was drunk, not get a receipt and forget that i had made a withdrawal. So come the end of the holiday when i thought, oh i should have about 150 euros left....i had nothing lol.

Hi,

The best way to do it is withdraw using your bank card IF you dont get charged ie if you have a nationwide current account.

You then get the bank rate conversion which is usually 3-4 points higher currently about 1.27 vs about 1.22 on high street.

A tip for other travelx.co.uk beat all high street rates if you pre order online and pick up at airport. Be warned the rates are terrible if yu dont pre book online though.

Hope this helps
