:?:can anyone tell me whether it is better to change to euros in the uk, or on ibiza. thebest rate i can get at the moment in ukis 1.18 on the high street.

If you can get 1.18 I´d go for that, I took a gamble and left it late to get euros. Luckily changed the bulk on Wed at 1.17, Friday it was 1.15.

I got 1.18 as an enhanced rate from Going Places for changing £1000. You can barter with them, even the biggest high street chains.

The biggest ripoff rate I saw in Leeds airport before travelling last Sunday was 1.08. Sadly people must still use these airport travel bureaus or they would not still exist.

I would say take some Sterling with you (but don't change it - for emergencies only) and use your card to take money out from ATMs. Bear in mind some banks (eg Nationwide) don't charge you anything for taking money out abroad (although some do). You tend to get the best rate this way, just remember to take out the max daily that you can otherwise, if you make (say) 5 withdrawals of 50 quid (or whatever) you will have to pay 5 separate charges. Plus you also get a good rate if you pay in shops directly with your card and often you dont get charged extra for this.

www.iceplc.com or Travelex, just order and collect from Airports. Not all airports have this facility though.
We have ordered through ice as late as four days prior to departure but best to leave longer.:)
