I was thrilled when i opened the door and spotted we had one of the few balconys in the appartment block, felt so privelleged! Some of the rooms are really badly laid out, and the actual hotel is laid out very badly as well.
The appartments were clean and maids came every day, except to some of the fellas rooms they refused to set foot in cos thet were so mingin.
The water for showers was absolutly freezing, so if you are staying here, dont expect a hot shower, especially after 8 o'clock.
The toilet in our room broke, so we ended up having to lift of the cistern lid and physically fill it up with water in order to flush. It only broke after about 10 days, and that night we had to move rooms for other personal reasons, so i dont know how quickly they fixed it.
Didnt get the impression of the hotel being very safe. There where several break ins while i was staying there where money, travellers cheques clothes and aftershave where stolen. There are safety deposit boxes, but they are in the hotel reception, not in the rooms, which i didnt think was very safe, so i didnt get one. They deposit boxes were really expensive too to hire, something like 50 or 60 euros, which is wild considering th orvay only charged 20 last year. And dont leave your key at reception. They are on display in an open cupboard for all to see. Also changing travellers cheques at reception is a HUGE RIP OFF!! There is a place called the phone box on the main road you should go to instead.
The bar staff in the hotel are sooooooo rude. I swear i have never ever come accross such rude people and such dredful service. I ate there once and refused to go back. Why bother when there are hundreds of places next door where you can get service with a smile? There was one female receptionist was nice and the night porter turned out to be very helpful when we had an incedent and swapped us rooms in the middle of the night.
Despite all this, it is a brilliant location. Its right beside the beach, kanya and there is a beautiful beach bar called soul down there which sells mega cheap drink with a wkd only 3 euros.
I would go back. It might not be my first choice, as the whole safety deposit box, security thing really worried me, but i would stay there again if i had to. It does the job and it is clean.
