what a night!
when we got in the club just before midnight there was some live band playing funky tunes and on midnight dj le noir (a young and very talented swiss guy) began to spin. he played nice, built up a good atmosphere...but of course, every1 was waiting for erick morillo. he came up at 1:30am and played till 5am. his set was amazing! i heard him this summer @ wls (19th july) when he played first very funky and a bit commercial on the terrace and then very deep and hard inside space. this set now, was something in between. not as hard as inside space, but far from funky and commercial. just hard, fast, banging prog house tunes. there were some less good phases in between, but all in all i loved it! and of course, when he played alter ego's rocker, the club seemed to explode. still love that track (and am looking forward to get subliminal winter sessions vol 2 soon where it's on). and i must say, although mr morillo often plays the same games (loops, volume up an down), i think it' great to see a dj that really seems to have fun doin' his job (similar to carl cox who's bouncin' around like mad sometimes). was a quality night, although i missed sven väth who played in another club the same night in zurich. but i chose erick, because sven's coming to switzerland more often than morillo.
by the way: anyone ever heard a set of titto la rocka? he was playing in the other floor, also just perfect progressive house!!! wow!
