Afterparty @ Ministry Of Sound
The summer parties are in full flow and June's was probably our best one of the year for music and atmosphere. A really up for it crowd on a fantastic summers evening in London. Moving the headliners downstairs seems to work well and it is something we will continue to look at doing in the future.
For July we have a house legend joining us in Pete Gooding, a man who's been behind the decks at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza for eight hours a night for the last seven years. Pete's unique quality is that he's equally capable of rocking main rooms as backrooms, bars or even a chilled terrace. Unmistakably Pete Gooding's dj'ing is a little bit special. For us though he will be rocking the main room with pumping house at its finest!
He has combined his marathon sets at Cafe Mambo with residencies at El Divino, Renaissance, and Cream in Mallorca. Pete also plays regularly for Radio 1 on their Ibiza weekends as well as doing a guest mix on Pete Tong's Essential Selection Show. The season ended on a real high when Pete won the highly acclaimed award for "Best Ibiza DJ " at the Pacha Awards.
Over the last seven Years Pete's has become an Ibizan institution because of those very special nightly sunset journeys, which has led to him compiling the award winning Café Mambo compilations for the past five years. Throughout each summer he has written his own column in DJ Magazine's monthly Ibiza supplement in addition to continuing as singles reviewer for the magazine. We are delighted he is flying over especially to play this gig from his busy Ibiza schedule.
Pete's career has not been limited to the White Isle, on his return at the end of each summer, Pete forfeits his right to a well earned rest by playing the length and breadth of the U.K. and also tirelessly touring further a field, playing in over twenty five countries worldwide. We are delighted to welcome such a house legend to play on board the boat. Lets hope he brings some Balearic weather with him too!
Joining Pete on deck will be The Persuaders who have already played around 15 boat parties for us now, and are our longest serving residents. You can check out their latest podcast by going here www.soundcloud.com/thepersuaders .
Ian Tucker and Alex Maxwell are a very talented duo from Guildford who have played at Ministry of Sound for us as well as numerous other top clubs around the country and capital. They have been busy of late launching their 'Evissa Soul' brand and you can be sure these two will be armed with a selection of infectious deep tech house cuts to move the dance floor!
Chase and Kingy are a duo who have really moved on since we booked them a few years ago. Their Trigger Funk nights in the capital are going from strength to strength and they are even hosting a boat party of their own in September. They will be joined by Mike Fry and Eddie Mo who have played the boat previously at the back end of last year, their mix of house and tech will go down a treat. Completing the line up on this deck will be newcomer to ES Elearto. Having made his Ministry Of Sound and Plastic Fondu debut for us last time out we were delighted to give him the opportunity to play on the boat. A skilful and diverse Dj who is well worth checking out!
The other deck will be focussing on the more melodic sound of electronic music with some quality tech and prog going through to trance. We have invited an old favourite down from the Midlands in Shaun Mynett. After closing February's Nocturnal party, following on from Matt Darey, Shaun Mynett returns for his third stint on the ElectronicSessions CDJs. Both of previous visits have been floor filling success stories, and there's no doubt that his next set for us will be equally crowd pleasing.
For a taste of Shaun's of uplifting, driving progressive style, look no further than his 'Progressive With A Punch' radio show, airing on the third Tuesday of every month on Sense FM.

Our 3 regulars on this deck will be our loveable resident Jez Eyre, Leolife in the form of Steve G and Luke Curran and the ever reliable Mark Myers. All 4 are veterans on the boat parties and that says it all really. They are an extremely talented lot who never disappoint! Leolife have taken a few months off and are back to showcase some of their new productions with a slightly trancier sound. You can check out their podcast here. www.leolife.podomatic.com
Making there ES debuts in July will be the talented duo of Steve Holland and Nick Pietrzak. Steve Holland is a dj from the south coast who plays a mixture of tech and prog. He has already played alongside Mat Zo, Jaytech, Boom Jinx and Andrew Bayer where he warmed up the main bar at Ministry of Sound. Following on from Steve will be another Dj from the same kind of sound who played also recently for Plastic Fondu at MOS and did a very fine job.
Headlining the Upper Deck will be Passion resident Genix who has built up a reputation as one of the freshest dance artists around with his cutting edge production and DJ sets that have cemented his name on the biggest line ups around the world, standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Sander Van Doorn and Judge Jules. His DJ career has taken him across the globe playing at some of the most elite clubs across the UK, all over Europe, China, USA, Russia and Ibiza's Judgement Sunday's as well as being resident DJ and promoter for UK superclub Passion, where the world's most famous DJ's appear on a monthly basis for the past 15 years.
In 2005 Genix achieved a Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set in history with a massive 84 hours. Whilst raising money for a charity Genix has his name was printed in the world's most published book! It was only a few years later that the talented technician became Judge Jules ‘Big Tip' for 2008, following consistent support from the dance music legend Genix featured on Jules' BBC Radio 1 show with a guest mix and interview.
On the production side of things Genix has developed his own sound - a fusion of Tech, Trance, Progressive, House and Electro... it's hard to define the Genix sound but you know when you hear it! Groovy and infectious basslines and stomping beats combine with uplifting and electronic elements!
His productions are showcased by the elite DJ's on major radio stations such as the BBC, ASOT, Tiesto's Clublife, TATW and Galaxy. Armin made ‘Copius Cain' ASOT tune of the week, presented Genix with a guestmix on his ASOT 400 show as well as making Genix artiste of the week on the Armada website, check this link out for more info:
