Do you have any suggestions for ways I can find a job in the dance music industry, short of being in promotions and DJing?
I have a tremendous passion for this music, I could talk about it, read about it, discover it and listen to it 24 hours a day. My ultimate goal would be to become a house and trance DJ but I cannot afford good tables quite yet. I have plenty of people that are willing to teach me when that happens though.
I feel that having a "job" is more than just making a steady income, like I do now... it should be doing something that you have an insane passion for. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what I can do to get my foot in the door? Like, I think being a music critic or working for a music mag for now would be thrilling... but I know that people that aim for this are a dime a dozen. Should I just send a bunch of companies my resume and describe my obsession lol or will they not even give me the time of day? I am a relentless worker and extremely enthusiastic.
