Help please!

I need some advice over which club to choose. I have a small window of opportuniry to go out clubbing for one night in the w\c Aug 18th. My heart was set on Pacha as I have never yet been there. That was until some friends who have just returned, told me that the Hed Kandi night at El Divinio was awesome.

Just wondered what your views/advice was?

Which night at Pacha would be the best for Hed kandi type music?
 
If you've never been to Pacha, you HAVE to check it out! It's the most beautiful club in the world! Granted, I've only been to clubs in Ibiza, Miami, and New York, but it's the best I've seen. El Divino is nice, and Hed Kandi is fun, but nothing like Pacha. I'd say Tuesday night (Defected) might be the closest you'll find to Hed Kandi type music. They are both funky nights for sure.

I like Hed Kandi a lot, but the last time I was there....there were just way too many people that were so mangled, and would come up and try to have a conversation with their face completely mangled... it kinda pissed me off. I just don't understand how some people can get retarded. If you're gonna get that mangled, leave me the **** alone.
 
i would agree with jersey boy. if i had a choice between pacha or el divino then id say pacha everytime. and i agree again that pacha is the most beautiful club that you will ever see.

defected on a tuesday or def mix on a saturday would be your best bets.

el divino has an amazing view across the sea and you can see all the lights of ibiza town across the bay which reminds you how great ibiza is

go to pacha would be my advice
 
Thanks for the responses guys. I only have one night to go out. It is a family holiday, with my Missus, son, then another couple and their daughter. We have one night where we the wives will take the kids home, while we can carry on for the rest of the night. I am definately swaying towards Pacha, either Monday Roger Sanchez or Erik Morrillo on a Wednesday - the wednesday sessions on the dates in question are a special 10yr celebration of Erik Morillo.

Any views/suggestions?
 
Both Sanchez and Morrilo will be good nights to go to but they both play pretty tough when there out in Ibiza so if you are after strictly funky the closest your gonna get is either Tue-Defected or Sat-Def Mix. Def mix also depends who is playing mind. This Sat when I arrive Jeff Mills is playing who is most defenitly not funky!! Can't wait!! 8)8)
 
Thanks Paul the Pigeon, I don't like the music too hard - definately the funky house stuff for me, sounds like the Tue Defected night could be a winner!!

Anyone else any comments/suggestions regarding the defected night
 
Am I right in saying you will be there for 21st of Aug then? If so this is who is playing for defected:

Defected
Junior Jack
Kid Créme
Martin Solveig
Sarah Main
Shovell (percussion)

Good Line up IMO for defected.

Also if your there for the 18th Def Mix have:


Def Mix
Frankie Knuckles
Ashley Beedle

Which will probably be funky and soulful from Frankie Knuckles (going on previous live sets I've seen)
and probably some heavy disco from Ashley Beedle.

That will also be an awesome night!!8)8)
 
Defected is a wicked nite, bit tougher than Hed Kandi but Defected is still quite soulful, U.S House, plus its always rammed so that says it all.

they line ups they have this summer are some of the best with the likes of kenny dope, louie vega, david morales, todd terry, dennis ferrer, mr v, dj chus, junior jack and kid creme, martin solvieg, so they have some top top names there this year. plus the defected head hencho mr simon dunmore spininng every week. and they have shovell on live percussion every week which is amazing, so you couldnt pick a better nite if you like your house

Next question. Is it better to get the ticket ahead of time via one the websites etc or from Ibiza when we arrive?

Last year I went for the Radio 1 week and new it would be busy so got my tix in advance just in case they sold out. With you going more towards the end of Aug I think you should be ok:)

If you ony have one night and you have to choose between these two.. Go to PACHA!!! It's a magical place, one of the most amazing clubs in the world and the Defected vibe catches that magic feeling miracously. (Eric Morillo and Def Mix do too imo but from what I've read you already made your mind up about Tuesday...)

go to cafe mambo on the evening for the pre-party and u can pick up your ticket easily between 35e - 45e and you get a free coach to pacha and a free drink in the club
 
god you have to go to pacha its one of a kind, i have never been on a tuesday but a wednesday there is great too.you will have a ball whatever night you go

I'm a big kissdafunk fan and on both nights here since they started at El Divino have been good - their residents are The Trophy Twins so you can expect some very dance-floor friendly tunes.I would definately recommend that night to all. However, gotta agree with everyone else here - if you haven't been to Pacha before then you really ought to check it out. It's a great experience (same goes for Amnesia and Space).And Defected is a good night to go. Not too busy - Morillo (Wednesdays) and Pete Tong (Fridays) can get a little crazy - and the music is top drawer. Which is what you expect from a night at Pacha of course !!Junior Jack & Kid Creme were great two weeks ago (outshining Kenny Dope even) and Matrin Solveig can give a run for his money :)Hope you have a good night !Cheers,Dan

I know, I've been to Defected 2 years ago..it was sick!!! I just wondered whether or not I should try something new. I think I might have to go to pacha, now..I'm remembering how great Defected was.

looks like it's gonna be 3 straight nights at Pacha!! oh well! what a shame!

Allthough El Divino is a great club I'd go to Pacha if I had to choose between the two. If you want it funky you can party at The Funky Room. DJ Pippi ripped it apart when I was there :)

My advice is to stay away from the major clubs on saturdays because they are so overcrowded. Locals and weekend tourists also fill the clubs that day. Some friends and I went to a Hed Kandi party at El Divino on a saturday and it was amazing until 02:00. We left at 03:00 because it got so crowded there was no place to stand or dance. It totally killed the party.
