The way I see it, it doesn't make any difference if you're causing havok or not... if you're drinking in the street you're doing botellón!
I see people doing it in the big parking behind Sissi's, for example, without causing any trouble... it's still botellón!
(then, of course, you have all the rest blasting their stereos with that annoying reggaeton music... that's not only botellón but also a crime!)

Ok...just trying to get a feel for it. A friend of mine is thinking of calling a bar "botellón" and I immediately thought it would be a mistake. You'd agree?
Aside from anything else, whether its causing mischief or not, the whole idea is to buy cheap booze and drink in the street right?
Unless they just want the literal meaning of "big bottle"...
