To mention first: I'm 29 year old Italian living in Zurich and went with my girlfriend!
Stay: Hotel Es Vive
Very nice built hotel with a lot of small details which are very lovely. Most of the people working there are very friendly and will help you with everything you want (beside one English-Bitch!). Hotel guests are at 99% British, which was sometimes a little bit disappointing (how can you book one week Ibiza and stay the whole week beside the pool, when you have so much nice beaches around ??? - my advise: get a cheaper hotel if you can't afford it and rent a car instead)
Nights out:
Sat: Hed Kandi@El Divino - Best night with great sound and very nice people around. Don't miss that!
Mon: Cocoon@Amnesia - Forget about going there, it was nearly empty and people where just awful!
Wed: Subliminal Sessions@Pacha - Just great house music mixed from Eric Morillo who really kicked ass. Don't miss that neither if you like good house music. People where OK! (Neneh Cherry was in the funky room: this was just pathetic !!! she was just standing (sometimes dancing) there with a real DJ beside who did the whole mixing - what a disappointment)
Thu: Ministry@Pacha - Half empty and bad music. Not to be considered!
Fri: Base Bar CD release party - nice (at least I got this double CD for free) and relaxing.
Restaurants recommendation:
El Olivo - Ibiza Town Dalt Villa - A gay restaurant and the food was just excellent !!! We went even twice. Great atmosphere. Price for two with wine: around EUR 90 - Reservation needed: 971 300 411
Rincon del Puerto - Ibiza town near Base Bar - Very nice Italian restaurant with great food - you can only sit inside but it has an a/c. Price for two with wine: around EUR 70 - Reservation needed: 971 314 665
Sa Rima - Cala Comte (just before you arrive to Cala Comte on the right hand side) - Ibizian style restaurant with nice food and a calm athmosphere. Very good fish! Price for two with wine: around EUR 60 - No reservation needed.
Dalt Villa - Ibiza town Dalt Villa - Also a great restaurant with charming service. Price for two with wine: around EUR 90 - Reservation needed: 971 305 524
Beaches:
Platja d'en Bossa
Probably the worst beach on the island! It may be OK if you're young on drugs and want to dance at BoraBora. Otherwise avoid this beach!
Ses Salines
Where the wannabes meet! Nice beach with nice sound - that's it!
Cala des Jondal
Probably the most beautiful spot on the island - even tough it has only very limited part with sand. Just relax and enjoy the view! (sunbeds are expensive)
Benirras
Alternative gathering point for at sunset (instead this boring Cafe del Mar stuff). You'll find some percussionist drumming out the day in tribal style! The beach is also very nice.
Cala d'Hort
Here you have a spectacular view of the striking rock island. You can also watch the sunset. Some families around.
Cala Conta
Panoramic view of the offshore islands are striking. My favourite place to watch the sunset. (for guys: very nice girls around!) Lot of locals go here (they probably know why) 8)
Generally I have to say that the island lost something of the spirit (and especially it lost a lot of tourists). I was there for the first time last year and I could go out each night and the clubs were all full - but not this time - you have to be very selective on which night you go, otherwise you'll end up at a club which is nearly empty! What is great for the daytime (because you have much more space on the beaches) is sometimes disappointing during nights.
PS: I'm not at all against British - but if everybody around you (in the hotel) is one, this could be a little bit annoying! It would be the same if everybody around you would be Italian! I like more the multicultural type of people!
PPS: Probably the best party worldwide we host in Zurich next weekend: The street parade. If you have the possibility come here! Check this out for further infos: http://www.streetparade.ch
