Edinburgh?????

Any of you Scottish people give me some recommendations for pubbing & clubbing in Edinburgh. 8O
My boyf is staying at the Novotel next saturday and was wondering where the best places around that area are?
He likes going to Shindig and prefers funkier rather than hard house.
Any ideas info would be much appreciated!

the Liquid Room usually hosts the best nights in Edinburgh (not that i go)

For funky house, I would say Ultragroove, but progression is good also.

He must visit George Street for some cool bars, Bar 38, The Candy Bar, Hurricane, The Living Room and The Opal Lounge. All open late.

Also the City Cafe is just across from Cabaret Voltaire where Ultra Groove is and it is Edinburghs oldest pre-club bar. Still very popular. Irvine Welsh mentions it in loads of his books!

The grass market for Saturday during the day drinking is something different, although there can be lots of stag, hen and students about!
