Try George Street for Bars. Opal Lounge usually has an alright crowd ;)
 
Berlin is definitely worth a look, cool little place.

Bar wise, check out City Cafe (on Hunter Square) or Pivo (on Carlton Road) for pre-club and beers.
 
The best club in Edinburgh is Cabert Voiltre (handily down the road from the City Cafe). Usually good stuff every night. If you o on their website and register, ask politely and they'll give you free passes.

The Opal Lounge? Full of ya's (the likes of Prince Willy goes there) - I feel deeply uncomfotable there and its hardly a clubbers bar.

Stu got it right...The City Cafe or Pivo. Lost my head in the City Cafe many a time b4 going out. There are also ledgenary Sunday afternoons where only the hardcore are left standing.

Sadly I live in Weegie land now.

Where's the venue for the Sunday afterhours?

Havent been out in Glasgow for a bit, used to go to The Arches every second weekend but was getting put off by the ned element (obviously picking wrong nights to!)

Where do you suggest? Sub-club?
