Hey Syl have you tried doing a search  ha ha not being facetious but i remember a few threads on here from people who have actually done this but cant remember who started them.....

Or you could contact Hannah at My life in Ibiza - and get some handy tips from her....;) she drove from Manc with her life in a speedboat used as a trailer ....... top that one!!!

I drive every year between the UK & Ibiza. I have done it in as little as 24 hours door to door beginning from Calais; but usually we do it in three days. We drive the most direct route through Paris and and then via Orleans, Limoges, Toulouse and Perpignan; crossing into Spain on the N9. From there it is straight down to Denia and onto the ferry. The total cost for all ferries and tolls (but not hotels) is around £500 one way. Bear in mind the following though:

1) The car I was in averaged 28 mpg.
2) I am resident in Ibiza and so I got a 40% discount on the ferry between Denia and Ibiza.

i have just done a check up on one site..2 people say no car is 227.88 with car it was 315.36 euro;s...that was a week in say august

This time last year we were driving over, trailer in tow :) Because of the trailer we decided to get the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao (33 hours and they do some pretty good deals if i remember correctly) then drove to Barcelona and then got the ferry from there to Ibiza. A friend of ours has just done the same trip as opposed to driving the whole way and thanked us for the tip.

We actually missed out ferry crossing from Barcelona and thought we'd have to pay the whole lot again, we were so relieved when we got there the following day and explained we'd missed our crossing and all we had to pay was a €50 admin fee (or something like that)... something worth knowing!

Hope you have a pleasant journey :)

i took the seacat to cherbourg, down the left side of france - along the bottom to bordeaux and turned right at toulouse (all motorway) and went down the side of andorra (actually tried to drive through andorra but thats another story), through the tunnel to the border and then straight down to barcelona and turned right down the coast to valencia

the next time i did it i didnt turn right at andorra - i turned right at perpignan ;)

a nice drive is go down the coast of france to biarritz and then across spain through pamploma, zaragoza etc

We have driven over from the UK twice. If you get an early ferry from Dover on Day 1, you can be in Ibiza by Day 2 (if you're prepared to properly bomb it down the motorways - luckily the hubby loves driving:))

The first time we did from Calais to Barcelona and sailed from there. The second time we sailed from Valencia - half the sailing time but more driving.

Both trips cost about £500 each way - including petrol, toll charges, ferry costs etc.

My best tip - get a Sat Nav! Invaluable.
