I love driving when on holiday, In the UK we drive on the other side of the road so it is a bit of a novelty for me.
I have driven in Europe and the USA.
But I don’t know if it was me or just the way Ibiza drivers are.
I had 3 main problems.
On the plus side I found when I showed a little curtesy to other drivers they were phenomenally great full.
If I have misunderstood the rules please can someone put me right?
Having said all that I would strongly recommend getting a car when in Ibiza!!!

I had 3 main problems.
- When going into the tunnels on the dual carriageways near Ibiza and the airport there was a light up sign saying 70 or 80 in a big red circle above it. I took this to mean 70 or 80 KPH. But every time others drivers would zoom up behind me flashing their lights. If I couldn’t pull over I’d put my foot down and speed up, they would stay behind me, keeping on flashing ‘til I was going over 100 KPH. Then when I could pull onto the other lane they would over -take me. Sometimes these were privet cars or busses but normally taxis.
- Most of the time when I was the only car on a long stretch of main road I’d be doing 80KPH then a car would pull out in front of me from a little side road making me slow to 40 KPH ‘til they sped up. In the UK they would pull out after you passed so you wouldn’t need to slow down.
- Sometimes I’d make a wrong turn onto a quiet side road. When I did this I’d drive down a little way so other cars could see me and pass safely from both directions as I checked the map. Every time (after been there for a minuet or so) another car would want to go down the same road in the same direction. Although I’d be pulled into the side and indicator going they would flash their lights, beep their horns and make faces out the window to say I was a F***ing idiot. I have done this before in the UK and USA and people have pulled up alongside and said to me “Are you lost? Can I help?” but not in Ibiza…
