Which destinations are you dreaming about ?

I'm really interested to visit several countries....

I'm really into archeology, and I've red loads of books written by "archeo-gurus" such as Sitchin, Alford, Von Daniken, Lawton, Hancock...

My goals are:

Central and South America -> Chichen Itza, Teotiuacan, Tiananco and Macchu Picchu ruins

Middle East: Giza plan in Egypt and Baalbek ruins in Lebanon.

Nowadays Middle East is considered "unsafe" and that makes me a little worried...

Does anybody ever been there?

Is Middle East really dangerous as it appears?

Everywhere I haven't been!

Specific ideas in mind:

Asia - India (esp. Goa), China, Thailand, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore

South America - Brazil, Argentina, Uraguay, Peru (incl Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca)

North/Central America/Caribbean - Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, New Orleans, Cuba, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica

Africa - Egypt (incl. Cairo, pyramids), Morrocco, Victoria Falls, Tunisia, Zanzibar, the Maldives, Madagascar

Europe - Greece, Venice, Scandinavia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Azerbaijan

Israel, Australia,

but more than anything right now I have this dream of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro! :D

Im still dreaming about moving to Beunos Aires.

Buy a place out there. Learn some spanish to a very decent standard. Try and get a transfer through work so would be earning an overseas wage.

And then just go to BA and eat eat and eat!

If you like ruins Guetemala is amazing - especially Tikal - unlike Chichen Itza where all of the surrounding forest has been cleared so the ruins are just on plain, at Tikal you feel like you are discovering the ruins yourself because you are walking through the forest and then suddenly theres a huge ruin in front of you. Such a cool country!

I definitely want to check that out (why Guatemala is on my list) though i've gotta say that Chitzen Itza a must to visit. The pyramid, the observatory, the way the whole thing was laid out. I was in awe of the place.

Chichen Itza is a must - agreed. The other one I liked was Palenque - the ruin itself was nothing special but its setting right on the beach was stunning.

I also really really really want to go to Punte Del Este in Uruguay - meant to have an amzing club scene and all round setting

Palenque? Where is that?

We went to Tulum, which I was led to believe was the only major Mayan ruin/rown that was right on the coast. Just a bit south of Playa del Carmen. Some beautiful views there.

Edit: just looked up Palenque on the ever-trusty Wikipedia. Wow that is gorgeous! Must check that out next time!

I'm going Israel next year, dodgy country but I've minorly researched and it's okay. Plus, as previously stated, I am hard.
