RSPCA have a petition to sign for what its worth!

This is just really sick

It may take a while to get into the link, it took quite a while for me, but you do get there eventually!
RSPCA Shark Bait

he RSPCA is shocked and appalled at the use of live dogs and cats as bait in shark fishing, reported recently on the island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean.

It is understood that stray animals are rounded up by local fishermen for the purpose.

RSPCA International senior programme manager Paul Littlefair says: "This is one of the most brutal and distressing stories that we've come across. The use of a live animal in this illegal and barbaric way, involving the binding of its legs with wire and piercing of the muzzle with large hooks, is unjustifiably cruel.

"Given Réunion's status as a French overseas département, we strongly urge the French government to take immediate steps to enforce its animal protection legislation and end this horrific practice.
Members of the public should address their concerns to the French embassy to help put pressure on those in charge in order to bring this ghastly activity to an immediate halt."

I felt physically sick when I opened the paper this morning at that. But on another point, how can anyone stand there and justify taking the f***ing photo without trying to do something to help the bloody dog....... hopefully they did stop that particular cold blooded killing

These b@st@ards make me want to hurt them soooo badly

well spotted mate. I want to adopt that dog now - I can give him a lovely lovely life....... :? :?

My god, I really can't believe that - makes me very upset :(

some people really do just defy belief

pic's a bit suspect though, that doesn't look like a stray, it's a golden retriever isn't it?

I think this one is real - I doubt a reputable organization like the RSPCA would print a doctored photo. Maybe the people baiting the sharks have taken to stealing animals from homes as well, or maybe he was a pet and someone abandoned him. Kind people also feed strays without taking them in; since animals are survivors, they'll find a safe place to sleep and eat and will look good despite being on the street. This dog was obviously strong enough to free himself; he'll make some family very happy as a pet. :D

I'm pretty sure that picture is manipulated.

Take a look at the areas around the red arrows in resized image below.

It just wouldn't look like that.

Look around the edges of the hook.
This is exactly what it looks like when you are trying to put in a new object in Photoshop.

maybe the picture has been doctored, as in the Sun report of it, it says:

"A six-month-old labrador pup was recently found ALIVE with a huge double hook through its snout - like the dog above - and another through a leg."

Maybe they just made the picture so people can get the idea of how the pup was found??

Theres plenty more to worry about in the world than a few mangy muts i reckon.
