i actually don't mind it at all, it's about the only yankee sport i do like as the rest are mind numbingly boring.

Jonny, you are ever the nationalist aren't you? I lived in Boston for a while but never quite caught Celtic mania like many of your ethnic brethern down in South Boston (aka "Southy").
Of course, my hometown team changed its name a few years ago and became the Washington Wizards. Impossible to fully back a team a dumbass name like "the Wizards".
Speaking of basketball, Euroleague Final 4 underway. The two Spanish teams (Tau and Unicaja) just crashed out in the semifinals. CSKA Moscow
and Panathiakos will play the final in Athens on Sunday.

I do support the team... just wish they'd picked a better name!
Apparently, the Washington Monuments was one of the top vote-getters when they did that renaming contest, but the shirts in the NBA were worried it couldn't be copyrighted properly, so they dropped it from the five finalists. Sad... would have been much more appropriate.
