Glasses.........pah! The bane of my life. Had to start wearing glasses about 7 or 8 years ago. I blame the computers (old age more likely
), been using computers since 1979 and in the early days the monitors were really bad quality. Spent an absolute fortune on glasses. Bought 'trendy' ones because of the DJing malarky and wanted to look cool rather than geeky (didn't work
). Even got a pair of green sunglasses (ala Judge Jules
) and had reading lenses put in for DJing but could'nt see as far as the dancefloor..............another £100 wasted (keep them in my gig bag as backup). Last 3 years had a pair of Italian fashion house Police sunglasses with varifocal lenses fitted, wear them regularly. 8)
Been using contacts for several years for sports mainly. Last September moved over to the new idea of Monovision lenses. One eye is fitted with a lens for distance, the other is fitted with a lens for reading
. Tis very strange at first but the brain seems to sort it out. Either close or distant you have a crystal clear image in one eye and a blurry image in the other superimposed. I can just about read a newspaper and drive the car (not at the same time of course
). I now find myself using the lenses as much as my glasses..............and I can DJ quite happily with them using my laptop (can't read those Hed Kandi CD's though, even struggle with my glasses).
