DJ Yoda is one of the world's most admired and original DJs, having built a reputation as the only DJ to single-handedly inject humour into global hip-hop. Admired for his originality as well as his sense of fun, he is possibly the only DJ in the world who can fill a club cutting George Formby with Jurassic 5, or 80’s pop with New York rap.
Tipped by Q Magazine as one of ’The 10 DJs you must see before you die’, and voted alongside DJ Premier as ‘One of the Top Three DJs in the World’ in Hip Hop Connection magazine, DJ Yoda is no ordinary scratch DJ. Born in London, Yoda represents a new brand of mix-master who will play any kind of music to make people dance – with a hip-hop set that can take the audience from underground rap to TV themes, to nursery rhymes, country, soul, reggae, drum and bass, 80’s pop and back again.

Groove Armada headline the first of Trinity Rooms 5 Birthday Party's!
To celebrate 5 amazing years, Trinity Rooms have announced a series of 5 party's at the Michael Street venue taking place every every 2 months in 2008.
And to kick off they have announced the long awaited return to Limerick of Global superstars. Groove Armada!
Emerging out of the London club scene, Tom Findlay and Andy Cato created their own club, called Groove Armada, in the mid-'90s, creating a place where they could spin music they liked. While they had released several singles by 1997, it was with their limited release "At The River," which sampled "Old Cape Cod" by Patti Page, that they first rose to fame. This led to their debut album, Northern Star in 1998 and the silver-status Vertigo in 1999. A Fatboy Slim remix of their single "I See You Baby," in 2000 catapulted them to international stardom with it ubiquitous presence and catchy chorus, "I see you baby, shakin' that ass, shakin' that ass." Groove Armada released an album of remixes before recording their sophomore album Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub) in 2001. Intent on showcasing their range of talent, the duo collaborated with an eclectic list of artists, such as Neneh Cherry, Richie Havens, and Sunshine Anderson, to create a more rock & roll album with 2003's Lovebox. This album saw them make the leap from dance music stars to Global stars with packed stadiums from Brazil to Berlin getting down to their amazing live show. Their last visit to Limerick was in 2006 which saw a sold out Trinity Rooms enthralled by an upbeat funky dj set that had the whole crowd dance as one till late! Last summer they headlined Malahide Castle to 20,000 people so this Limerick date is a real coup for the Limerick club. Groove Armada play the main room at Trinity Rooms on Sunday 17th February from 10pm. Tickets priced just €10 are available at Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and at the Clubhouse at Trinity Rooms and also on the door on the night if still available:spank:
