don't go out much, but have been eyeing dixon at Enter for a while. it completely lived up to expectations - danced non-stop from midnight until 4am (shuffling only by the end!). such great music - so danceable. best night i've had in ages!
it was doubly impressive because during the whole 4 hours i was there, he didn't need to go to the bathroom once and was drinking water constantly - that's true control
the music was melodic (namby-pamby?) but built and built, with a really trippy edge.
It's mainly soppy extended vocal renditions at the start of some of his sets or after a really cracking build-up which get the thumbs-down from me ... can turn a really great set into a "sunken soufflé" (Sasha is guilty of the same on occasion !). The ladies often seem to like it but I lean much more to techno than daddy house, so when it happens it's a bit like receiving a marketing call on the answering machine as you're just about to come ....
