Got there around 1.45am to hearing Simon Dunmore playing 'The Cure & The Cause'...please stop playing that fooking record!!!

Osunlade came on shortly after and what a DJ. He played some fine deep house with lots of percussive moments. Highlight of his set was the awesome 'Bodydrummin'. I'll never tire of that track. Ame followed and for the first time ever I was a little dissappointed in them. I think as they were playing a DITH night at Pacha they thought they should play it safe which was a pity. Was surprised they played 'Insomnia (Ame Mix)' which did the opposite of the title as it was overplayed last year so didn't expect to hear it again. Was gutted they didn't play their recent tracks such as Balandine and Enoi as I was looking foward to hearing the them. They did play the new one from Tokyo Black Star 'Still Sequence' so all wasn't lost.

Downsides of the night were: -

The ridiculously priced drinks. I keep thinking that maybe one year they will relaise how much they are ripping us off and bring down the prices...oh well.

The VIP areas. Are they getting bigger with each year?

Shovell on percussion. What a tool!

...and finally why does nobody smile in Pacha? Isn't going out about having a good time? Very odd.

I think that will be my last visit to Pacha which is a pity because Defected do sometimes put on some very good DJ's.

Although i dont agree with the prices, the clubs in ibiza are packed and the peeps still buy the drinks...why would they lower them?

Chovell on percussion.... i think it adds something to the night....a bit of fun, and when i was there in June, he performed great with Kenny Dope.

Smiling in Pacha... yeah can see plenty of miserable faces... but hey, smile yourself and you never know it may spread!

:)

Maybe its the kind of people that Defected attracts? It certainly looks a better vibe at Subliminal or Release Yourself from the videos i've seen and the reports. :?:

Also, whats with the rock music in the Global Room

One good thing about the defected nights is that you can actually find a spot to dance. had some fantastic nights at Subliminal, but they would have been even better if we had room to dance.
