Por su parte, el portavoz de Amnesia, David de Felipe, aseguró que se está «criminalizando» al sector. «Hay mucha hipocresía. En la sociedad, la gente toma drogas, y las discotecas reflejan la sociedad»,

I agree with Señor de Felipe.

I think the clubs in Ibiza should get credit for typically providing safe entertainment for adults.

Unlicensed dealers are in principle unsatisfactory.

Agree, to a certain extent regarding the clubs, but - from a H&S view point, they need to drop the price of water - (my usual argument about clubs in Ibiza). Everyone who is aware of or has knowledge of the whole clubbing/drug scene knows you need water if you are going to dabble in drug taking, dancing in excessive heat for any length of time .... None of the younger clubbers take this into consideration, sometimes through their own stupidity but there are other times when I think they have not really known the excessive cost of drinks in clubs....

The amount of times I have seen people in clubs with enough cash for the entrance fee, their bits and bobs and prob 1-2 bottles of water in a 7hr session is scarey!! There have been times where I have bought water for some guys I have seen who are obviously overheating - I find that worrying......

According to what he said, one might think that, in a club, you see the exact reproduction of our society, which is false. Of course, drugs are a part of our western society and has been a part of many societies and civilizations (the Indians in South America chew the coke's leaf recreationally). Now there's, E, K, G, etc. before there were opium, absynth, coke (you could buy it on drugstore over the counter, Freud did it...)

If they win the fight against coke or marijuana, there's always some new drugs coming, because there's demand for drugs, not only on clubs.

At clubs, people who use drugs recreationally find an environment where the consumption of these substances are more tolerated than, let's say, St. Paul's Church in London. The problem is that no one questions the policy most governments and societies adopted toward drugs nowadays. There were times when drugs would be used with religious purposes and now, the only response you'll hear from most public people is a "banish it" loud cry.

People who go to clubs, generally can afford the luxury of that and everything that comes along: spending on the entrance fee, spending on drinks, spending on drugs, on records, on IPods, on computers, on music in general, on fashion, etc. All this money doesn't grow on trees, people that are consuming drugs are working, studying, visiting their families, but they like to spend time getting high and going to clubs. The only people who will be affected by their habit is themselves and those close to them. What's society gotta do with it?

Is it more logical to spend tons of Government money to buy guns to Army, Policement, Customs to declare war on drugs (it's a lost war) or wouldn't it be better to spend all that money in developping good treatments to people who want to quit drugs, hospitals etc.

There are many legal drugs available and they can be as dangerous and as socially unaccepted as illegal club drugs, but that's not even an issue. Ignorance and hypocrats!

So clubs don't reflect society, but they're a product of a hypocrat society that won't accept that some very well-off people have a different point of view on drugs consumption and even support it. Clubs are the place where you can be among people who enjoy their free time as they want without the usual judgements from society.
