with some time on my hands on yesterday's public holiday and with the wifey and my 30th anniversary coming up i was musing on the good old days - the ones before i met her!
78 was a very good year musically - it was when many jazz musicians hit the disco floor and there were some top choons being played in the clubs. remember that in the mainstream charts of the day it was all saturday night fever. just check out some of these tracks (all apart from 1 or 2 from 78) to hear what was hot 30 years ago.

Very interesting! I prefer the more instrumental type tracks myself,but it's all good.From that bunch I like the Rahni Harris and Dibango the most. btw "back in the day" did you ever catch the home grown funk of Gonzalez? Would of been around the smalltime club/college scene?

I like all this kinda stuff. Can't get enough disco just now it's all I'm listening to, Salsoul, Teddy Pendergrass, Cadido, First Choice, Lolleta Holloway, Hudson People etc etc. It's just sooooo good.
