I cannot rave enough about this new venue for Shindig - the sound system will blow you away...
Went to see Lottie and Jose Nunez on Saturday night - Lottie not really doing it for me these days - but really wanted to go along and check out the new club (without builders and bags of shite everywhere). Anyway, went for a few swift warm up drinks at the Other Rooms next door to Digital - very kitsch and very chilled - a bit too chilled for getting totally into the party mood - but I reckon the bar will get there......
Anyway, on to the club. On the guest lists so no queing which was just as well because the Q stretched all the way across Times Square to the main road (this is at 11.00pm!!!) walked straight into the club and it was pretty much rammed. Got to the bar great service (AND they have 4 cooler cabinets in the back of the bar, so that once the drinks are running out in the front coolers, the next lot of cold drinks move forward, so drinks always ice cold - bliss!!). Got our drinks and walked to the dancefloor - not as big (or deep) as the old Foundation dancefloor, but still a canny size. We walked on to the dancefloor and found ourselves hit by the four stacks of Funktion One and oh my God! I have never experienced a sound like it (not since going to see Swans in the 80's at Foundation (old Riverside) and f*** me, they were loud!!.....
We decided to position ourselves for the full night smack bang in the middle of the 4 stacks...... I had more rushes from the sound levels that anything else I succumbed to on Saturday night - crystal clear sounds and the breakdowns were just indescribable.....
This sound system is gonna take Shindig to new levels, always been a big fan of the place, but the club, its decor, and this sound system is gonna be big!!!
Oh there is another room upstairs - which was cool as f**k - different type of music, but just as good (and this room luckily is soundproofed from the club downstair)
Apparently, word on the street is that 5 or 6 huge Int DJ's who Shindig have almost booked in the past but never did have contacted Shindig direct asking to play at the new club because of the System.....
This place certainly delivers the goods - I am still grinning thinking about it......

I've been waiting nearly Two years for one to be installed somewhere in the UK since i heard an indentical system in the states. As you now know, words can't describe how good it is! Makes the systems at Ministry, Fabric etc all seem average and weak. 
Should be up to Newcastle in Sep some time... 8)
