Digital Camera....

Err I don't know if that's good or not but if you don't need it in the next month wait and get a camera in the sales, Tom bought me a digital camera just after last Christmas and it was £80 cheaper than before Christmas.

compare batery life as well

my camera has appaling battery life, and i ended up not taking it anywhere.

just gonna use my k750i from now on.

i don't know much about PRAKTICA cameras but what i do know is i have a cannon and it rocks, maybe a little bit more expensive but worth it for quality shots and usability..... :D

I have a Canon, I like it cos it's so little and cute

I have a Canon as well :P

They are photog EXPERTS, highly suggest!!!

A while back I had an annoying one that made you pause for waaaay too long while it sorta found the correct lighting  It was maddening. Make sure you take it for a "test drive" in the store before you buy. Most places will let you do this, as you have to feel comfy while snapping quick, random shots. Mine was very slim and pocket practical. Unfortunately someone spilt on it, so now I have my eye on an Olympus... 5.1 pixels and sharp as hell, a little bigger, but whatev.... just gives me an excuse to buy a bigger and more fab purse :P :P

Lots of good deals out there for the holidays... of course the time when you are supposed to be buying gifts for others lol. ;) ;)

Makka, that one looks super cool.

I have a Canon too - great camera. Easy to use, good quality and they are small and sturdy. Can really recommend them. Have a look at the IXUS range.

Photoquality on the Canon are excellent - I've got a fairly old Ixus II and the colur saturation is absolutely lovely. My mate has the Ixus 700 and it takes really amazing shots (thisnk it's 5.1 mp)

Bovered? Does my face look bovered?

:P

Ok so ive discovered that Canons rock!

Was speaking to a mate @ work this morning, he said 'Optical Zoom' is a must have really, but this one ive seen doesnt have it, alltho it has Digital zoom, anyone care to inlighten me on what the difference is?

Does Optical zoom really make that much difference on the picture quality?

I should just state, the pics i shall be taken will probably never get printed and simply stored on my computer, so im obviously not after to greater quality.

Thanks folks :D

Optical zoom is the one of the lense, it would be the equivalent to a zoom in a reflex cam

Digital zoom is fake, is the cam that makes the pixels bigger and so you loose definition.

I hope it makes sense, cos in english is a bit difficult to explain ;)

optical zoom, uses the lense to zoom (like a normal camera).

unlike "digital" zoom, which basically zooms in on the captured pixels - which is why they come out pixelated.

hope that makes sense

Never gonna risk Boots' staff calling the Old Bill again eh Makka? Yeah, yeah, we know - you could see the horse was enjoying it and the dwarf was paid well for his involvement - read the court reports at the time! :P
