Hey all you djs - wondering if someone knows a good place in London to get some CDs duped up (around 30-40) for cheap?

Also, what do people use to insert tracks into 1 long mix without adding any spaces?

Thanks kids!

if the mix is already split, all cd burning software has options to have no gap between tracks! I use nero.....I just select all the tracks then go to properties and change the gap to zero seconds...

I think other software might use something called "track at once".

It's not split - I need to find some software to do the splitting up :)

that only works for mp3 though  but its really easy to use and accurate etc so its worth converting to mp3 to split b4 burning

well some cd writing software actually have the capabilities to split up the wav file too!

nero burner does it cequadrat does it.....im sure most new ones will do it!

and converting to mp3 doesnt create a noticeable difference in sound quality if you convert at a decent rate?

Steinberg Clean is great. Record your mix, remove any unwanted hiss and crap that may be there, cut it into tracks and burn it on to CD all in one box. Most of it can be done via the on board wizard aswell

Or just use nero and use the 'index & splits' feature. You just load in the track and double click on it in the cd browser to see the properties. Goto the last tab of the properties called something like 'index & splits' and it will draw up a waveform of the whole track. Next u just tell nero where to start and end that particular track, eg track 2 starts at 4:55 and ends at 9:20 etc. You will need the full mix to be loaded into nero as many times as there are tracks, eg for 10 tracks, load the mix into nero 10 times so it comes up with 10 tracks listed in the cd browser.

Alternatively if u know how to use a wave editor then load up ur mix and start cutting the tracks off the end and saving to separate files. Then just load em all back in nero again and make sure there is 0 seconds gap between them (again using the properties page).

If you're still havin mega trub then send me a cd of the full mix and i will master it and sort out the tracks etc. I could then give it back to u at so...

Thanks mate - very helpful! I'm working off a Mac, so am trying to see if I can use roxio to do the job.. otherwise I'm also trying to find a copy of recycle, which I believe has a wav editing feature (it must do)..

Cheers mate :)

I've got an audio cd player & recorder with two decks on it and I have been known to sit there and press the 'track increment' button when I want to insert a track change on a copy of a continuous mix.

...but that's not much help really is it?

I'll get me coat
