i spoke to juan about this. it's not closing for good, it's shut until march time.

although they won't be selling music (not sure if he meant vinyl or everything) anymore, they'll just be doing merchandise and club tickets, etc

Cant be that good if you havent been in ages. ;)
I beg to differ.
Just usually buy (and/or acquire) my music digitally these days... likely what they're referring to re: the death of music!

Plus I haven't had time for much shopping at all the past couple of trips.

so it wont be a record store anymore, like the old one in la marina which only sells t-shirts and some club compilation CDs.....

drove along their in october like 100 times, but never found parking nearby
so each time forgot about it. was my last hope to get a supermartxe-t-shirt ...

I beg to differ. Some albums just have to be bought in hard copy (via the internet ;) )

The End of an Era
Someone with a wry sense of humour has placed a placard in the window of the Delta Disco Shop in Avenida España in Ibiza Town, which reads “cerrado por la defunción de la música” – “closed because of the passing away of music”. This central shop, the oldest on the island, which first opened its doors 43 years ago, at the beginning sold records, later cassettes and, at the end, CDs and DVDs, but during the past ten years they have seen a drop in sales, each year worse than the previous one, and who is to blame? The internet, of course. In the early days it was Napster who allowed the down-loading of music and they were eventually fined US$26 million, causing the website to close. Internet has brought a lot of advantages to the music industry, although unfortunately not to the people who make their living from it.
