dunno if i should cos it ain't a positive review...
we went in 2000. 3 of us - 1 of which procrastinated until the Del Mar thru 18-30 was pretty much all we could get for the dates i had booked off..anyway
got there 4am.
took a wee while to get the room sorted.
the actual room was probably soo bad cos we got the worst in the building. some have a balcony, some a terrace - we had neither. a small room at the basement level, with a window to the back lane of the complex.
the room consisted of 2 single beds and a mini-sofa bed (our procrastinating friend is small so that worked ok).
not much closet space for 3 people in the room but thats not the worst.
the other bed from mine had almost 50% of the wooden slats missing - my friend had to space them out to stop himself falling thru it.
the main lightswitch was seriously hazardous.
the gas cannister in the kitchen unit was empty and not connected.
the bathroom sink had no plug - had to shave out of a pitcher filled with the hot water.
we complained about these things to the 18-30 reps and the light switch was fixed that day. after the welcome meeting where we refused to sign up for 18-30 events - the other repairs never happened. i wonder why
it got ridiculous when there was a storm one day. the window seemed to have holes drilled for a vent of some sorts - funny thing is that they forgot to actually fit the vent! the water streamed thru the open hole.
i know this has been very critical and there were good points - the pool was ok (small but the whole complex is) and there was a good sunterrace to avoid the splashes but still soak the sun.
the bar downstairs is good - lovely burgers
as i said before - i believe that we were unlucky and got the absolute worst room in the building (maybe the island) so don't take this review too much to heart and expect the worst....you'll be having way too much fun and probably won't spend too long in your room.
