Defected 2024 Ibiza v Malta

Hi All!!

I have been to Ibiza 12 times and defected has always been my thing!! I notice that it is due a new venue this year… does anyone have any idea where this might be?
I don’t really wanna go to a super club which is cramped and full of people taking photos rather than dancing (I’m kinda old skool I guess!!) I usually plan my trips around who’s playing anyway etc. but I like Eden cos it is as just all about the music (even if it was a bit basic).

If this fails, defected malta might be on the cards… has anyone done this? And does anyone need a plus one 😉 I’m probs planning to travel alone cos my friends are all boring and like Take That (there’s nothing wrong with that… just not my vibe!!). So just weighing up my options … thank you in advance, Clare!

Your friends sound like mine 🤣🤣. Can’t help on your question about malta but FairPlay for staying young and doing you 👍. I’m 39 and I did ibiza alone last year and absolutely loved it!
 
Hey!!! Awww no way!! Did you do any clubs? I do defected stuff alone all the time!! I did Eden alone and piv alone in Ibiza last year and they were the best times!! No drama 🤣🤣 and you always meet people anyway!!
 
Yeah I went September and did defected at Eden and then pikes on the Sunday and then loads of beach chilling and snorkelling! It’s so nice doing exactly what you want to do! Met loads of randoms in the clubs, always do like you say 😁
 
Aww that sounds ace!! Who did you see at defected?? I saw A-Trak and Hannah Wants in 2022 and that was pretty special. Sam Divine has been amazing too!
I saw Gorgon City at defected Leeds, Elrow town and drumsheds last year and they were ace! But Ibiza gives you the best memories!!
I deffo need to do one of them this year but will decide upon line up releases 🥳
 
Yeah I saw Hannah wants, Sam divine, melé and Paige Tomlinson in September, and the music was class. I was never a fan of Hannah wants but I think she’s making the best stuff she’s ever made the last year or 2, I really liked her set. She’s just hosted the most recent defected podcast aswell which is well worth a listen 👍. Yeah I’m there a couple of times this year and am waiting on line ups, I can only see defected moving to ush or hi tho and that’s gonna annoy me, I like eden
 
Hang on… where you there 9th September? I was there then!! I went with my little girl so didn’t hit the club tho. We met Hannah Wants at Cafe Mambo. I have met Hannah wants a couple of times now- she is the most nicest person ever, as is Sam Divine.
Hannah Wants is my fave for defected. So I will deffo check that out. Thank you!!
Oh no… I’m gonna be gutted if it goes to a fancy club. I’ve never even done those ones… but I do fancy Ants. I love Amnesia!! Wasn’t a fan of Pacha at all… too cramped.

Haha yeah it was sept 9th! I love it being in Eden, you feel really close to the DJs and it makes such a good atmosphere, was class. Hannah and Sam have a new single coming out together soon it’s decent 👌. Yeah same I’m a fan of amnesia for the right night, donotsleep is usually my cup of tea there. I’ve done ants a couple times and ive found it alright but it’s jus not a massive fan of the venue, it’s not dirty enough 😂. Yeah hang around on here and wel have a little rave if our dates collide 😁👍
 
Ah no wayyyyy!! Haha deffo!!! I’m just eyeing up Elrow town in London… I just love a party!! I have radio 1 booked for drumsheds too but nothing else as yet 😃
 
Im with both of you, my mates are the same. Also did Ibiza, specifically, Defected solo last year and the year before, would highly recommend. Although depends on where it moves this year! Sorry haven't done the Defected festivals so can't comment on those, but pretty sure Solo would still be great!

Thank you!!! I think my mates were planning a club 7 whilst I was planning Ibiza last year 🙄
It depends on the new venue…but I remember when defected tickets used to be like 25 euros a few years back at Eden!! I hope they don’t hit the big marks 🙈🙈 and I guess if defected moves… everything will be pretty much over the other side now too and I love the Bay Area and ittaca 😭
I’m happy travelling solo cos there’s no compromise 😂😂!!
 
yeah San an is much nicer than bossa! Building up a little team of ibiza loners in here, could come in quite handy 😁😂. Me and my mates are going Majorca for our 40ths in July, I was the only one that wanted ibiza so I jus gave in, but I’ve decided I’m getting a flight to ibz on my own for a night during the trip 🤣 they think I’m a right nob
 
Haha we should change the name of the convo to ‘Ibiza loners’ 😂😂!! I agree… not a fan of Bossa either … much prefer the bay!!
I’m with you on that one…my exes in laws used to live in Alicante and we used to fly across to Ibiza whilst we visited them a few times!! I’ve never done Majorca … probs never will 🙈🙈 .. and I think they’re the odd ones out for not getting on that flight with ya!!
 
Majorca is stunning tbf, it’s just not got the same pull on me! It will be a nice place to relax after a mad 24 hours on ibiza 😁

There is also a group on Facebook called Ibiza Solo Travel, where you can meet up with fellow solo travellers to go to club events and days out with if you did decide to head over there on your own.

I just heard a rumor that DEFECTED could be switching to Ushuaia for an outdoor party, so like 20:00-24:00? Would be a terrible move in my opinion so I hope its not true. Its too good of a night to be downgraded into Ushuaia in my opinion.
