Heard loads of people say how in form they are at the mo, Ive never had the pleasure to see em...

Can anyone recommend any essential listening from them ? EMs , sets, etc.

Deep Dish Global Underground Moscow is great. That's older stuff though.

People haven't been as glowing about their recent album... some good tunes but not altogether as an ensemble piece. I've got it but haven't listened yet.

Their set in Pacha in June was blinding, but I doubt it's out anywhere.

Tbh their Global Underground and other mix CDs are not a true reflection of their DJ sets (most of the CDs bore me tbh), they did a recent Essential Mix (18 June I think), check that out.

I think their DJ sets are better than they were a few years ago. I've never been a massive fan but the 2x I've seen them this year have probably been my best sets of the year.
 
They just seem to play whatever music is cool now, i prfered it when you went to see them and hardly knew what they played....

I probably knew 3 songs they played in a 5 hour set @ Pacha and about 5 songs they played in a 6 hour set @ Ministry the other week. Even my b/friend who is the biggest Deep Dish fan out there said they're playing a lot of new and different stuff.

I can only comment on the 2 nights I was there but you do seem to be in a minority cos everyone else I've spoken to are of the opinion Deep Dish boys are on fire at the mo :D
 
I have seen a few others on this board as one example saying Deep Dish are going downhill.... You like them I accept that and can see why you do, but you have to accept my points for disliking them and not disregard my opinion. BTW on a different note my GF has that same peach top as you with the gold print :lol:

I accept that you don't like them, all I'm saying is that I saw them (along with a lot of people off here) twice in the last 6 weeks and they were awesome, if you've seen them more recently than that and you can dispute my statement then go ahead.
 
Christ, im not disputing what you think. But my opinion of Deep Dish is that they are not what they where a while back.
 
I keep up to date with what they are playing (Live sets, tracklistings), there remix's productions, I know enough to know that they are not what they where, and id say more than you, two nights of seeing Deep Dish this year whilst probably pissed or tail ended on garrys does not make you the Deep Dish 05' expert. The Toronto CD for example, you will not get Deep Dish making a compilation like that again, the new album is also shite and has had bad reviews. I listened to the essential mix from this month last week and I got bored halfway through, I switched it off. I rest my case.
 
people probably slag off deep dish cos of their latest releases in the last few years, but if you judge a dj on that then you're being a fool.

Most dj's release choons that will be slightly more popular, if you check out their dj set's they hardly ever play it cheesy stuff though... well not this year anyway..

To me they have being playing proper house music, and know how to play to a crowd...


never judge a dj on their releases is my moto (yet say hello goes down really well at 7am in my moto also)

I'm not professing to be a Deep Dish expert, tbh most of the time I can give or take them, but I've been out with someone for 6 years who is the biggest Deep Dish fan so I've seen them enough times and now enough about them. Even 3/4 years ago when I saw Deep Dish their DJ sets were nothing like the GU Toronto CDs, maybe you should get out your bedroom a bit more and go and see what DJs are actually playing live ;)

I'm laughing at myself for arguining over the merits of a pair of DJs who I'm not overly bothered about :lol:

Now there's no need for you to resort to childish digs about bumming DJs :roll:
