Day on-Day off - Disasterous Ending :(

First timer reviewer, but thought i would give it a shot- i always love reading everyone else's.

the weeks holiday began with a super early start, we had to be at the airport for 3.30 am. Even with it being so early we definitley had a spring in our step, nothing beats the excitement of heading away. Same could be said for a lot of the other crowd at the airport that looked like they come straight from the pub :) (not too many low cut vests to be noted on the guys just yet)

landed at about 11am, got picked up by a guy we have rented an apartment from in PDB the last few years (but as only me and the other half OH able to go this year we opted for little hostal in San An), good guy who usually sorts us out with any kind of sundries we need. We were staying in Hostal Valencia (about 5 mins walk up the back of the west end). room wasnt ready that early to we just grabbed some gear and went to check out the local area.
less than 5 mins walk away we came out at a little decking area by Kanya/ Buddabar, everyone just chilling out listening to music, drinking supermarket beers, looked like came straight from previous night. Chilled out there for good bit (prob too long) as great atmosphere and beers. then headed back to the apartment for quick shower and out to dinner.
For dinnner we went to Villa Manchega, little restaurant about 5 mins from hostal. nice fish dinner and good value, think we paid less than €35 for 2 x starters, mains and couple more drinks.

we then walked (i probably more swayed/wobbled than walked) down past mambo, caught end of Ben Pearce doing pre party for Pacha, think it was for Flower Power.
then set off for the "one last drink" in Itaca before bed as big day planned for wednesday- damm making plans again in Ibiza- just never works. i somehow ended up in the black hole that is west end!!!

woke up the next morning in half pjs, half clothes i wasnt even wearing that night WTF and a phone full of photos and phone numbers of all my new best best mates i met along the way. photos looked like we were in Hush. My OH wasnt too impressed-said i varied from losing the abilty to talk at all and refusing to go back to the hostal as "no one sleeps in Ibiza":spank: i blame the altitude  and sleep deprevation.....

Wednesday i woke up way too chirpy for a person who drank way too much (should have been a warning sign of impending hangover) but i felt great. popped on down to the pool where we tried to make a decision about whether to do Departures (not our ideal event but thought it might be worth a look) or head over to Zoo Channel. walked down to cafe called fat slobs for a full english to line the stomach before hitting it again- worst decision ever- food actually was very good, friendly staff, but my hangover picked then to check in. spent a not so glorious evening back in the hostal:oops: caught a very late light dinner in hostal Florian about midnight then crawled back into bed---2 days down and not one club, this was starting to get a bit embarrassing-my well planned out itinerary had gone to sh*t

plan- thur night we had tickets for cream, amnesia. planned to make up for lost time ( and we did)....

Thursday morning woke with a clear head, ready for day ahead. Chilled by the hostel pool with few drinks. Then went out and got our supplies for the evening ahead.
We started on it about 8oclock, chilling on the balcony with some good tunes, then consumed what needed to be and headed down for a few drinks (while avoiding the west end) before going to amnesia.

taxi queue in San an Was huge but met a few like minded people who were headed the same place, started to really look forward to the night. Met a really cool couple (in maybe late 40's- early 50's) who have been coming to ibiza for years, they were massively up on music, club nights etc. had been to a different club nearly every night of their holiday (doing better than I was ), the wanted to do a taxi share over which suited us. Got there at about 1.30.

we had pre-booked our balcony tickets with spotlight before traveling so no queues- straight in the door. Not searched either so no need for any my hair bands around the OH's dangly bits. With the dj box,the ladies toilets and way to smokin area right at the entrance it's a bit of a tight squeeze to get into the terrace, but once there plenty of room. Got some drinks in (€20 for vodka in the bars on the balcony!- so we used the bar downstairs) and headed in for first half hour of above and beyonds set, before laidback luke came on. think most of the crowd had the same idea as the main room was filling up and the crowd were really going for it.

Headed back up the balcony about half past 2 for laidback Luke to start, while up there we got even got to say a quick hello to him as he went by with his ?wife ?girlfriend, both of them dressed in their Superman costumes:)
by now we were in flying form and managed to grab a great spot.

once he began he set the crowd went absolutely mental and it all became a bit blurry - he really knows how to please a crowd. At one stage I thought I was hearing things when he played - oasis wonderwall !! Thecustomary giant hands were then thrown out into the crowd. We ended up making some more random friends up there while venturing down for an auld ice cannon blast (has to be done) here and there. To me it all went by too fast. ( from a ladies point of view, well worth having the balcony ticket for quick access to toilets)

Once he was done it was Eddie halliwells turn, than man is super energetic when on the decks, arms and legs flying everywhere...he was great too but Luke just done it for me. Hung around till the end, then grabbed a taxi back to San an, for a little chill and debrief on the balcony with a drink before hitting bed late that morning.
Was the one time I wished I had brought my decent phone with me so I could have taken a photo or video of the night, memories will just have to stay burned in my brain instead:)

Have to say the security afterwards were bit intense, one guy kept calling one poor clubber a c**t because she didn't get into the taxi he was pointing out to her !!

we had a great night, and began to really look forward to the rest of the week and the other club nights we had planned, pity we didn't realise how the last night would go so wrong and end in disaster.....

woke up the next morning in half pjs, half clothes i wasnt even wearing that night WTF and a phone full of photos and phone numbers of all my new best best mates i met along the way. photos looked like we were in Hush. HA! Quality.

So Friday morning, woke up after way too little hours sleep. suppose thats just part and parcel of ibiza, sleep is not your friend. decided just to have a chill out day by the pool and maybe go to music on later that night.

for dinner decided to pop down to this little funky mexican restaurant we have gone to a couple of times and have always got a great feed. this time not so much. the OH ordered some sort of chicken skewer dish and when he cut the chicken open it was wobbly and pure pink inside (he had already eaten a few pieces haha). we are not great ones for complaining, but it was totally stomach turing so had to say something. the waitress was non too pleased at the dish being returned- tried to convince us that it was ment to be an over cooked dish!!! OH wasnt taken his chances, Bad enough needing immodiom tabs from the drinks and.. no need to add raw chicken into the mix

we got out of there fairly rapidly and decided to go for a bit of a chill out cocktail in some nice surroundings (add a bit of romance to our holiday ) headed up to Tulp bar along san an promanade. really good cocktails, cool crowd and some nice music. the drinks were fairly potent, think about 7-8€ each. so much so we had great laugh watchin some old german couple dancing- the wife was giving it socks chair dancing/ fist pumping while the hubby was polite smiling back at her trying to get her to realx and calm down (she had some moves to daft punk get lucky), she was having none of his telling her to be quiet. he downed the rest of both of their cocktails and swiflty dragged her out, id say they had a great walk home (prob like my OH trying to drag me home on the first night lol).

By now we were totally chilled out and the night before tiredness was starting to catch up on us, so decided head back to the hostal. "we get taxi?" -nah lets walk back past back the bars- BAD IDEA!! so there we are strolling back past ibiza rocks all chilled ready for bed when we walk past Ibiza Rocks Bar where the after party for We are Rockstars was on in full swing. " ah sure one more drink wont hurt ":)
got in about 5 mins before Kissy Sell Out came on the decks, he was really good. got the crowd really going. he had no problem with people being right up on the stage with him. just as he was almost over, one of his decks broke. covered it well, but it took so long to get a replacement one he just finished up.

most akward part of the holiday next----- so just as Kissy was finished i decided (as i was full of drink by now) that i most definitly needed a photo with him, show the girls at home, not that they would have a clue who he was. i asked the OH to get Kissy attention while i got the phone out. so he taps Kissy on the shoulder and puts his hand out to get his attention, what does Kissy do, only take the OH's fist and kisses it!!!!! -akward (never washing that hand again lol)

by now we are both full of the joys of alcohol (and akward male fist kissing) there is no way we are going home now, so head over to plastik and decide to do a bit of a pub crawl. in there we met some english guy who supposeably it was his 50th birthday and he owned a charted yacht company in San An, he was all alone but seemed like a good bloke who was having a great time. we had a few more with him, then done a bit of a sneaky exit when he suggested the 3 of us head off to his boat for a private party. we had had enough male loving for one night.

from there on in, it all becomes a bit hazy again, i vagely remeber going to koppas and tropi and again ending up in Hush- i say i remeber i base a lot of this story on photos i seen the next morning. my phone is like crime watch- full of photos of people i dont know but i could put that photo out there and ask for help from the public to identify them :) i know at the time we were all the best of friends and planned to meet up every year in ibiza FORVER.... what i do actually remember is coming out of hush and attempting the walk home, what is it about being drunk and sense of direction. not even just a girl thing, the two of us where totally lost ( its a straight 5min road back to our hostal), we gave up and got a taxi back ...

made a promise to ourselves then no more memory robbing black hole west end for us, we came here to go clubbing and where failing miserably...

Saturday morning bad hangovers all round but at least the OH raw chicken never made a reappearence. It was a super hot day so got rid of the sore heads at the pool then sneaky power nap and went for a stroll around the town.
i persuaded the OH he would like Hed Kandi, lots of hot semi naked dancers etc so dragged him down to get some tickets (i paid for this mistake ha)

so back to hostal our little balcony preparty, got what we needed to get into the party spirit then headed out for some pre Es Paradis drinks. ive been to hed kandi a couple of times with the girls (who arent into the clubbing scene at all) and had a good night, ok priced drinks and always a good show put on. we knew it wouldnt be very hard music wise but thought as we were staying this side of the island worth a go and we had done different sat nights in other clubs before.

when we got there about 2-2.20 should have known things werent right, i think because Eden wasnt open the younger crowd were just looking for any cheap club that was falling distance from the west end. queue was really big which i was suprised by, took us about half hour to get in. anyway once inside, stocked up again on essentials and got a good spot where we could see everything- left of the stage near the toilet entrance.

music for first hour was very disco and monotonous, guy called Andy Norman was playing i think. the crowd werent responding to him at all, just a lot of two stepping side to side dancing going on. Lovely Laura came on with the Sax and that improved things a bit, also two guys doing some breakdancin n what looked like wrestler suits (not sure what that was all about). the OH was having a great time watching the lady dancers, think he would have wanted to leave a lot earlier if it wasnt for them :) anyway as the night went on the crowd just got increasinly worse- really young, way too much drugs to handle on board, banging into everyone, just really aggi. not sure if it was just becauase we were near the toilets we got to see the worst off evryone going in and out. when im out, im known to disapear off and come back with new friends, but there was just none of this happening at all tonight.

sometime between 4-5am we decided we had enough and get out of there....(did not walk through/ past any pubs on way home, just in case.) needless to say we where fairly alert getting home as was still so early and we were still on it- took a long time to get asleep.

wont be going back to hed kandi i think...not sure why is was so different this year ?eden not open ?we wouldn usually come this early in the year, usually september.

holiday almost over, just sunday and the disaster that was monday night and ASOT to go.

Sunday morning woke ridiculously early, think still impaired from the night before or previous few late nights had knocked my sleep pattern totally off. spent the day doing some sight seeing of that side of the island, got to visit some nice beaches and chill out. headed back to san an bay and had probably my favourite dinner of the whole holiday in a restaurant called casita- huge varied menu, had stuff like zebra and aligator meat :) we had starters, mains, desserts and about 3 drinks each for about 40 euro!! stuffed to the hilt, headed back to hostal to get ready for bora bora and hopefully we love in space.
once we got back decided to have a little pre party nap- must of gone unconscious- woke at 3am :( -sunday was game over....

monday was the last day of the holiday, and where it all went horribly wrong. packed up early as we knew we had a big night ahead-we had pre booked tix to Asot through spotlight. so caught last few hours of sun, then headed down to mambo for dinner and final sunset. then chuckie and greg klossman came on the decks doing a warm up for some dirty dutch night in pacha. by now the drinks were flowing and there was a really good atmosphere, didnt want to leave but we knew we had to to get over to priviledge. (we had to be at the airport at about7.30 am + plus we only had cash left for getting to and from club and one or two drinks left at this stage).

by now i was suuuuper excited, had been looking forward to this night all week- like all my xmas's were coming together, was like a little child.
skipped back to the hostal, got ready- full of chat about how good this was going to be. then consumed whatever pre party supplies we had left. by now really ready to party for final time before back to the real work. so opened the safe, gave the OH the tickets to mind while i got my bag ready.

so he's sitting there on the bed, reading through the tickets and says " you f@@KING idiot, the date on these tickets is the 24th June (it was now the 2nd july). i had pre booked tickets for the wrong night, we were a week too late !!!!!!!!!!! (i hold my head in total shame) when i was booking the cream tix, i booked the Asot ones too, but clicked on the wrong monday night!!!! - moral of the story -dont do internet shopping when on night shifts....

i will admit that i became quite girly, i almost shed a tear i was so annoyed at myself. we just didnt have the funds to buy another set, transport, drinks etc and money for the next day to get home (we had a big airport car park bill to go back to too)

the OH took it better than me, suppose knew there was nothing that could be done- if u cant laugh, u cry about these things.

so there we were all dressed and rockin to go, but with nowhere to go :) (heard it was a crap night anyway- yeah right ha ha) i had to unfollow Armin and privilege on twitter, didnt want to see any updates about the night :)

anyway that was the drama of the last night.- overall we had a great holiday...just dont think i would stay in San an again and prefer to go later in the year- september, when we usually go the closing parties (at least no way of getting sucked into west end again:) )

Ooh thats gutting :( Just to make thinks worse.... (I'm nice like that)... I went to that night you missed, it was epic haha! And to make things even worse, I was in San An staying near where you were and I had a spare ticket... which I ended up binning!!! Bad timing or what!

Can you tell me where Casita resturant is? Like the sound of that, especially trying Zebra!

Gutted about ASOT, I would of just bitten the bullet and brought another ticket!

Damm u !!!! I hoped maybe there had been a power cut or something and everyone had been sent home :). Looking back we probably should of chanced our arm to see was a cheap one being sold around nearby.

Ah just another reason I plan going back :)

Yeah casita, is right around the bay. Past the promenade. Opposite tagomago apartments and a little tapas restaurant called la flamas. Think there is a pub of the corner called jesters that's now closed.
It's just as you come to the cross roads before turning right down towards donahues Irish bar.

Great little place, looks like sitting out in a private garden. The menu consists of meals from countries around the world. And cheaper set price menu. (Free wifi too :) )

We did consider buying more tickets but just didn't have the finances, plus it was getting late, so would of had to buy full price and could only stay for 3/4 hrs as had to be at airport for 7.30.

Looking back we shud of just said feck it and went for it anyway :)

Haha yeah you should have had a quick look round, but like you say having an excuse to go back is never a bad thing ;) ive managed to find one 17 times! haha! My excuse for my September trip is my mates didn't enjoy Sankeys so we ended up leaving after a few hours, so i need to go back and enjoy it properly!!

As good as any excuse :) better than my original "think I left my bottle of perfume there, we need to go back ASAP" :)

Gutted for ya, a similar thing happened to my mate last year. He had booked tickets to see Sasha @ Pacha for some date in August and we were there in September. He ended up shelling out €90 on the night to pay on the door. Luckily he said it was the best set he'd ever seen Sasha play so all good in the end.
