Damn that man. He is making me reassess far too many things. I know he's been mentioned on here before, and he was on the goggle box last night too. What do those who know anything about him think of his ideas and methods? I read his book on holiday...

I think his writing is excellent. Opened my eyes & kind of demionstrated to me what i was thinking....but put it back in a way that made sense if you know what i mean.. He bangs on which gets some peoples backs up but as he says the fundamentalists do need to be fought tooth and nail & agnositics (Neville Chamberline school, loved that line) do not help the situation.

there are a few on here (enter Buckley!) for whom this is their own mastermind subject.

Ive always considered myself agnostic (fence sitter!) but i dont think i can anymore... plus his programme last night really criticised spiritualism and ive always thought there was something in that (personal experiences etc) but now im not so sure... mmm :?

Has anyone read "The Dawkins Delusion?" by Alistair McGrath? Supposidly totally destroys Dawkins arguments...

i dont do intellectual chat

but i dig dawkins.... i actually think george lucas' "force" is more in line with my way of thinking, i think he was onto something when he scribbled that down.

Who is this person:?:

An atheist intellectual, based I think at Oxford Uni. However he may actually be a biologist by trade, not certain.

Argues passionately that religion = false and bad & evolution = true and amazing. Amongst other things - I only know him for his very recent work.

Most recent book is the only one I have read, a very very readable, point by point demolition of religion (if you accept what he says of course). Its called the god dellusion - a brilliant book imho.
