well, I cant believe i am saying this but it is pretty good on Radio 2 BBC. I think I must be getting old. I was always the biggest critic of Dance Anthems but really it was ok, "aright Dave just on the M4 coming back from Gatecrasher" etc

I listened last week when it was supposed to be about 1998, when hardly any music was from that year:lol:

Still was good to hear dance music on Radio 2, just shows us late 80's early 90's ravers are now getting old8)

Ugh. My colleague has radio 2 on at work and it makes me feel oldddddddddd; just the whole station branding rather than any particular show.

You can still get some decent dance music on the radio 1 specialist shows and a bit of 6 Music.

New generation now ;)

Dave Pearce Euphoria at Eden back in 2001...... still one of the best club nights I've had. And yes, I'm listening to Radio 2 and getting old too........

I went in 2001 as well. From there to Space then straight to Judgement Sunday. Lets just say I was a feeling a bit rough by the end of it.

Radio 2 is just what Radio 1 used to be. Had the 'new' Dance Anthems on in the car and what a load of tosh that was.

Yes, I am old

If you feel too old for R1, listen to 6 Music rather than R2 - much better and you will get the occasional good dance tune during the day.

i have loads of minidisc recordings of radio 1 from 1998 onwards..
can say that is anything worth listening to now...

have to say i thought dave was a big crap.. the first time round but good to see more range on radio2.

I think when Dance Anthems finished it was actually a massive loss for clubbing in the UK (recall all of the people phoning from X,Y and Z and saying they had an amazing time at X,Y or Z - free advertisment on the BBC). It was on at a time where not only your conventional clubbers would be listening but others too...it probably got me into the Dance music culture at about 12 years old. As a DJ, I personally thought he was awful, but his show was always a good come down from your own weekend exploits and others. He did also unearth decent stuff over the years.

Saw Dave Pearce play his Delirium night at MoS (think it was the last one the club did actually) in 2008, and it was really enjoyable.
