Data SIM CARD for tourist ?

most cafes/bars/restaurants/hotels etc all have free wifi
Indeed, I was sat in a bar and after ordering, was playing with my phone and they brought the password with my drink and I hadn't even asked for it!
I wouldn't use a cafe's wifi for a heavy download out of courtesy though - both to them and other customers! But did watch some live cricket

Orange is the answer 20€ 2Gb data (vodaphone ,expensive, moviestar, not network found , lebara cheap but bad network such loosing network in town )
im glad that european isp include all countries in national subscription  no more pain to buy one simacard for 1 year
shop open at 5pm,closed sunday , u can queue 1hour:confused:
for solo people that only stick to freewifi, not a good idea, i loose  some precious time with some spotlights along meetup, no Data/connection no Meetup!!without mercy :D
Spend 20€ on a simcard, it may lower ur pills budget by 1 :spank: but this is the answer

Glad you mentioned Movistar - got a phone signal but never the internet (the symbol always showed a "R" next to it) so I could phone and text but not browse. Spent a tenner for data up front too. Next time will change my phone to Orange if they have a payg data option - will look into it.

i used to buy vodaphone but they really increase their price, making u buy the 4Gb or more as min is 30-35€ ...
For moviestar, i lost 2hours waiting for the shop to open (5pm) in figueretas, and i ask the staff im ok to buy ur simcard as long data network work with my cellphone, it was still searching for network  so i went to vodaphone that day, add 1 hour queue so kind 4hours spred first hours in ibz  lost to get connected in ibiz, the condition when solo & in touch with spotlight mates.
Simcard last 6month if u dont reload it & Orange staff not very helpful to tell you how to reload it (need a call & code)

u need original id to get a simcard, the copy doesn't work (when letting it in car, parked 25mn by feet & beaten to death, i was very happy that day :D), a junior staff asking me if i had a passport, i told him i got an id & it was not ok for him  until his manager told him id is enough, ID is more important than passport, feucking idiot
Orange shop is now opened along lunch and sat , was not the case years ago, i bought them a battery that last only 1 ibz trip last year , i should take it back but lost the ticket, i can buy new one & switch back as having 18 tix ...i will think about it :D

Do they typically have cheap burner (flip-phones or bricks) in stock at orange or movistar? I am thinking of the cheap 10-15€ phones.

We will each venture out on our own during our month there and will need to coordinate when apart. Unfortunately, all our phones are locked to local US networks soa simple sim switch wont cut it...

Had a word with Tesco about not recieving Movistar's data (I could texts and calls) so they have unlocked my phone meaning I can insert an Orange/EE PAYG card yet still keep the number - and revert back to Tesco back home who provide good PAYG deals.

Wonder if there are any phones which accept two cards and you simply choose the network that gives you the better signal wherever you are?

thank you .. where can i buy orange pre paid card ibiza? at the airport? can i buy it at the Madrid airport?

ibz airport i don't think so, they require id and passport, orignial one, not copy, never been to madrid.
ibz town av espana & ignacio wallis, orange shop.
ship inn , kfc have free wifi;
once u have drink in a bar/restaurant , u can save their wifi code eg Harnus cafe  i used to to upload videos on fb/insta at bars (saving data network) but ill avoid this now, saving energy (human & cellphone battery :spank:) & do the social network once back from ibiza :D
