Erm, NO!!! That photo is a real one!! A tornado/funnel/whatever hit the coast off Ibiza about 7pm last night.... I was soundchecking for a gig and everyone suddenly disappeared outside with their phones/cameras to take pics and videos of it!! :roll:

When Ibiza has a proper storm, armageddon is a children's tea party! I usually manage to get one decent storm every time I visit - can be very spectacular! If you can watch a storm over Ibiza from Formentera it's a brilliant light show.

There are cheaper options like the one diver refers to on Playa Den Bossa beach, Italian made unit, but not the same experience as Flyboard.
 
The FlyBoard seems to be marketed with a suggested rental cost of 100Euros/20 minutes which is probably about right .... looks a bit like a wakeboard attached to a hydraulic. Probably something I'd do once or twice but can't see me getting hooked on it - get a kite and go out in a strong wind, be just as exhilarating !


It's the JetLev that's 3,000Euros/day (about 3 times what it ought to be when you look at the purchase cost .. but I guess you are hiring 2 people plus a jetski as well as the unit ... all a bit of an indulgence and the FlyBoard looks just as much fun).


The Jet-Surfs look good too, to be honest http://www.jet-surf.es/ and SeaBobs are way better than Jetskis - bit like riverboarding but with a motor .. and in the sea :p
 
Reporting from here in sunny Es Cana I can honestly say YES it was genuine. It didn't hit the ground so it wasn't a "tornado" as such but not sure what you'd call it... a wind funnel maybe? The photos of it out to sea ARE genuine, not sure about the one of it actually hitting the sea....

Saturday we had torrential rain, black skies and windy weather and at 7pm this funnel struck!!! My husband took a video of it on his phone..... I was mid sound check at the time for the Blue Moon/Full Moon Celebration at Cala Nova and everyone suddenly rushed outside with their phones/cameras and left me to it!!! So I nipped out to see where they'd all gone and hey ho, there was this funnel thingy out to sea!!! 8O Brilliant to see!!

Thats what I'd like to know... I've seen the same pic uploaded by several people however I'm sure if there was a tornado there'd be lots of different pics. Plus the pic looks rather fake :/ not saying there wasnt one just saying 'the pic' isn't the best evidence lol
