Curry Club - San Antonio

Has anyone been here recently? We went last week, had such high expectations for our meal, we've eaten there about 5 times before and always had a brilliant curry, really good quality food. Last week though was TERRIBLE!! They must have changed their chef in the last year because the food was completely below par.
The curry's had no definition between eachother, we ordered a byrinani, rogan josh, bhuna and masala and they all tasted exactly the same, same strength, colour etc. Even the bombay potato was in the same curry paste! It's as though they had one massive pot of brown curry in the back and slopped a bit on everyone's plate, and just calling it a different name!

We were all very disappointed, such a shame because it used to be such a good restaurant :x

We went for the first time last year because everyone always praised the place. I was not impressed, it was very bland.

I have been there and will not go back again. Their curry's taste like they have come out of a packet! Anyone who says, that is proper Indian food. Has not had Proper Indian food!

doh, i think i went there in 2004.. it was nice then, i was really looking 4ward to a nice indian too, any reccomendations of anywhere else?as ill be there in just over a week,

curry club has always been a bit hit and miss really. food quality/quantity would often vary depending what time you arrived:?

here's a funny one. i put the curry club in the guide i write for easyjet and got a telling off for featuring british food as apparently 60% of ej's passengers are not british.

i also got a telling off one time for putting too much family oriented stuff in a guide for the month of may - you know the month when ibiza is swarming with cool cats here for all the fantastic club nights.........

I went in 2004, just before Manumission ( ) and I was really surprised by how nice it was.

i usually always visit the curry club when i visit ( 6 years now) however i went this year in may, with some mates and after praising the place was a little embarrassed with our visit, the service was ok but the food has gone down hill, the peshwari naan well dunno what the have done but it was more like mincemeat in a naan, and we couldnt tell the differance between some dishes, shame really, the old place used to be good.

Sad to say it has gone down hill. The night before last all our food was lukewarm and it took three attempts before they managed to take all the errors off our bill. Service was poor too.

Shame, it used to be quite good

It was a fantastic place for quite a few years, took some mates there last year after raving on about it and it was absolutely terrible. Gave it a miss this year and went to Villa Mercedes instead and thought that was great

God your all making me hungry, im determined to have an indian nxt week, and i want a nice one, a propa hot nice, curry!

tonight

just had a really nice madras and onion bahji tonight at a small indian restaurant in san antonio bay, called curry cellar next door to hot spot cafe... well literally speaking curry cellar is downstairs , but that was closed, the little restaurant upstairs was open xxxx

I thought that was you writing in there....now I know!;)

I wasnt just me then, it really has gone downhill :( Such a shame because it used to be such a good restaurant.

I'm no curry conisseur but I know the difference between a Bhuna and a Masala.... I kept trying to point this out to the waiter who insisted that all the dishes were correct. Amazingly they were all the same colour, texture and tasted exactly the same, even the bombay potato!

We also had to complain for quite a while before they took some of the worst dishes off our bill.

we went a few weeks ago and I was surprised at the time it took between courses, normally they are very prompt.
I didn't notice a great deal of difference in the food, but a mate said that Devas was a lot better.

Shame really, as I love the Curry Club setting and it's somewhere we have always gone back to.

Tijuana's is my favourite restaurant on the island, just for the frozen margharitas !!!
 :p
