current tempreture

two weeks ago the temp in pdb was above 35+.i saw it on one sign in ibizatown as 37.some days it was too hot really.

Yeah, walked through Playa d'En Bossa mid-afternoon the first week of July and the heat was utterly unbarable. Very, very hot. Not nice at all when it gets like that.

Still, what I would do for a few hours of that kind of weather in Blighty right now!

yes we had a heat wave two weeks ago (just when the 123 festie was happening) when temperatures went up to 40degrees.

now normal summer temperatures have resumed - as i said, 30-ish degrees daytime... 25 degrees right now.

Those roadsigns are unreliable! The true temperature must be taken in the shade a few feet off the ground, and I'm not convinced the sensors in/for the signs are correctly positioned! If the sensors are inside the boxes showing the temp, with the sun on they must get mighty hot!

Being a small island surrounded by a large body of water, the day temps are lowered a touch (but the night temps stay very warm), which is why you often see Majorca having a higher day temp (by 2 - 3c) but a cooler evening than Ibiza.

so what would you say is hotter ibiza or Majorca? not fogetting most resorts are on the coast.so gods knows what it is inland.as there is no breeze to cool you down a bit

Its been hot but quite cloudy the last few days...been clearing up at 3.30-4ish and then very nice...I was shivering on the way home at 8am this morning though...

In summer, Majorca...but in winter Ibiza is milder, Majorca can be very chilly. Simply because Majorca's bigger so inland it's further from the sea - so there's less of a cooling effect (and warming in winter). Only by a couple of degrees or so - barely noticable! Mind you, it's not as bad as being in the centre of Spain where 40c is the norm for July/August, waay too hot for me.

BUT - in summer Ibiza gets a warmer sea - here's the proof! http://www.meteoibiza.com/tempmar.php 22.8c @1039 compared with 21.6c at time of writing on Majorca's south cost. Way to go, Ibiza!!

40c in the centre of spain is much more pleasant than 30c in ibiza. ibiza's problem is humidity, which gets to the high 90%s in august, that's the killer. by contrast the centre of spain is very dry heat and not so draining as here.

btw i can't believe i entered a conversation about the weather. it's a banned topic when my parents are here otherwise they never shut up about it!
