Can use credit cards at bar and clubs to buy drinks? Do they keep a tab open for you or do they just swipe everytime you want a drink? Is there a minimum for using your CC at a bar?

Can you pay club admission by using your credit card?

Thanks!

I wouldn't imagine they keep a tab open it's not like America, maybe in some of the smaller cafes they might :?:

the spanish way of doing things is that customers pay their bill as they leave - in other words you have a tab. this method still exists in many of the bars in ibiza, however they're the type of bars which don't charge astronomic prices for ale and therefore you wouldn't need a credit card. i was out last night and my tab totalled €14!

i would imagine that the type of bars you'll be visiting will be scalping you on drinks prices and will want their cash 'en el acto'

i had big trouble with my americanexpress-creditcard :spank:  :spank:

only big hotels, gas-stations and some shops accept it.

3 out of 4 places, where i wanted to pay with it, didn´t take it .

mastercard/visa and some spanish cards (don´t know the name) is accepted nearly everywhere 8)

thats the case with loads of places across Europe...............its because AMEX is a charge card and not explicitly a credit card.

Yo

Are you all talking strictly Credit Cards or are Debit Cards (Check Cards) w/ Visa or Mastercard on it acceptable as well? Oh yeah, are there ATMs (Cash Machines) all over the place or what?

credit cards and debit cards are fine, with Visa logo, etc (as long as they are not those electron ones you can get without visa).

ATMs are everywhere, yes

nationwide flex card is what you need,no charge for taking money out or paying bills, rates as of 14th june was 139 in most shops, but some were 142 art /la serina.but do check 1st ok

i think retailers lose out more money on Amex. Could be wrong but when i worked in a shop in town they used to get us to discourage customers from using Amex.
