Review ... off another site

Last week saw London party crew Creche host an evening of deep house at El Clodenis with Lee Brinx, Cozzy D and Alexis Raphael.

When you're in Ibiza it's a good idea to keep your ears open for any small but effective parties that might be going on in villas and bars up in the hills in the smaller parts of the island.

One such party cropped up this weekend at El Clodenis, a s****y restaurant in the little town of San Raphael dubbed by Pacha Magazine as “Ibiza's legendary restaurant.” London night Creche were the hosts, bringing deep house talents Lee Brinx, Cozzy D and Alexis Raphael along to supply the tunes.

It was relatively easy to find. The setting; white stone walls, pots of colourful plants dotted around the stone gardens and a pool at the back half covered by wooden decking to support the DJs, the decks and a handful of party heads. They even had a bar outside, nestled in a little hut near the pool.

We got there at about 6pm. The party was already in full swing and as usual the sun was shining bright. Sunglasses at the ready, we took our positions on the decking and set about grooving to Lee Brinx's selection of sun-friendly deep house, including Martin Roth's euphoric, synth laden ‘Beautiful Life' and the recent remix of Jamie Jones' ‘Whiff It Yawl' by Eats Everything. All the ingredients were there for a lively and pleasant sun-soaked afternoon with around a 250 like-minded mix of workers and holiday-makers from around the island, and a great soundtrack to go with it. And the best part, it was free!

Cozzy D jumped on next, the sun still shining brightly. Another array of delicious deep house music and one particular favourite of mine, the Laura Jones remix of ‘Movements in Soul'. The crowd was just the right size; everybody had space to dance comfortably or sit around and socialise in a truly stunning setting. After a while the sun started to set and Cozzy D took the party to the next level, laying down bass heavy beats thick and fast to the crowd that was now going wild. Towards the end of the set, the volume was gradually being turned down, most likely so as not to disturb residents in the local area.

After a while Alexis Raphael took over the reigns. The music was very quiet now, and after a few minutes someone came on the microphone and announced that the party was moving inside. Everyone had to get through one door up one set of stairs but it was dealt with quickly and in no time we were in, where we were showed through to a small, empty box room with a table at the front and green dots of light splattered all over the four walls. The DJs carried the equipment through, turned up the volume and the party was taken to a completely new dimension. Raphael dropped bomb after bomb, including what has already become an Ibiza favourite, Jamie Jones' remix of Cajmere's ‘Percolator'. The room was packed, very sweaty and going off, like a proper little rave.

A lot of people were chilling outside in the front garden on a number of tables and chairs. In the night time the outside areas of the restaurant had transformed into magical gardens dowsed in ambient lighting, so we took the opportunity to go out and have a chat with some of the other clubbers before heading back home.
The atmosphere had been great all day and it had been a nice change from the intense super clubs. Creche have said they will run a series of outdoor parties in Ibiza this year and hopefully they will continue to join forces with El Clodenis. Like I said, keep your ears open. It's definitely worth it.

Don't suppose you are thinking of heading out at around that time........?

If it's closing parties time then definitely not - after last year swore I would never do it again (blooming awful in the clubs definitely an endurance test for me !) :spank:
