Cream or Deep Dish??

hola

Im off next week (being me I booked our flight to coincide with the world cup final....errr)

anyways have pretty much figured out which nights weplanning on going to apart from Thurs

Im torn between Cream and Deep Dish.

I would normally lean towards deep dish because I love them but given that we are going to Pacha on Weds and Fri, 3 nights in a row might just kill it.

Having said that Ive heard cream is a bit beer boyish? is it that bad or is it still a good night. I went there 5 yrs ago when I was last here and had an awesome time. I was 18 and I was a lto more into my trance back then tho!

Given that we are going to Cocoon (altho one mate is still putting a case forward for R Sanchez) on Mon its not like we wont have done Amnesia.

I know its the nigths and not the venue that makes it but any opinions on what cream is like these days, how good deep dish is and whether 3 nights on the bounce at pacha might kill the vibe would be appreciated (i like to plan these things!)

I may have just been lucky, but I found the crowd at Cream to be one of the friendliest in Ibiza. No pretentiousness at all. Oakenfold was **** though :lol:
 
personally I'd rubber Morillo on the Wednesday and go to Privilege instead for Meganite. Alternatively instead of Deep Dish or Cream Underground is open on the Thursday...

Cream is a bit of a toerag crowd and can get stupidly busy but if you get there early and claim your spot (and ignore some of your surroundings :lol: ) it's fine.

Re Deep Dish, everytime I've seen them in Ibiza they've been excellent, def one of the better nights @ Pacha....but I'd check the listings cos at some of their Pacha dates this year only Dubfire or Sharam is playing and I personally wouldn't bother goiing to see them if it's just the one there.

I do think 3 consecutive nights @ Pacha is Pacha overkill, one year I think I went 5x in a week and I got sick of the sight of the place :lol: Personally I'd miss Pure Pacha tho above Deep Dish -I'm not a big fan of Pacha on Fridays, lots of people there just cos it's Pacha and a Friday night and they haven't got a clue who's playing.

By all accounts tho' Pure Pacha has been a better atmosphere this year

and alex neri & Ralf rocked it t'other week
 
Ye Ive hear pure pacha gets pretty busy and no one knows how to kill a dance floor better than tongy.... Except its the First F**k me Im Famous Party and I love Gueta. Guess It will be even more busy than usual but should be worth it. ? (although it is the Stink opening pty at DC10 though do think a Circo Loco shoud satisfy my DC10 needs!)


Am pretty keen on Subliminal as well. Dont think Meganite would be my thing as not really into Mauro Picotto type sounds (anymore!) althought to be fair really havent heard too much about it as a night. And have never heard of Underground at all!! What is it?

Back to Thurs...Need to find out about whether both DD boys are playing.

Am leaning towards Cream just because I had some pretty messy nights there a few years back and reckon Pacha will be a slightly more restrained affair!

hmmm...now Im confused about Cocoon again...everyone says its "one of the best nights on the Island" but I just get aprehensive about a night of Techno given its our first night on the Island n my mates will hate me if its S**te (Im chief clubbing planner...a lot of pressure on these shoulders!)

Re Cocoon, I was there last week, if you're expecting proper techno you'll be very disappointed, Sven just basically played cheesey hard Eurotrance, def not my cup of tea 8O :lol:

Gotta come out in his defence here

Tong has been getting better and better
on the 16th he was excellent. Great tunes, well mixed
 
i agree. on the 9th he rocked it. ok, was a crowd pleasing set but i had an amazing night. one of my best on the island yet (if not the best)

In contrast, everyone else who has ever been to Cocoon loves it :lol: I think Sven is one of the best DJ's around at the moment, and he definately plays some brilliant techno, nothing like hard trance IMO.

Don't even get me started on Sneak and his sped up R&B handbag house :twisted:

well i must say i was shocked when you wrote about sven playing "hard eurotrance"...8O i catched sven playing several times during the last few months and i never heard him playing such stuff. mostly techy sound, often also tek-house and sometimes with a trancey twist...but i never really would call it trance!

The rest of them liked it but they are in the beginners class :lol: ;) Tom liked it at the time but he said in hindsight he won't be going back in a hurry :lol:
