Confusion over Miami WMC 2011 Dates

I went ahead and booked a hotel for the week of Ultra Music Festival (last week of the month).

If push comes to shove I can always cancel it.

Flights are a different question...
 
The Clevelander. Ocean Drive.
The one time I stayed in South Beach, I used to walk past it and see parties going on around the pool all the time. Always wanted to give it a try and just found a decent rate.

Yeah we went there a couple of times, the first night we landed after travelling for 25 hours and then for a daytime pool party. Great location and place.
 
I booked hotels and flights several months ago for the end of March (21-28/3/11), basing it on the fact that WMC has always been in the last week of March (or at least from 2004 onwards).
I have a cancelation (dates change) fee of the flights that is 210 dollars.
Regardless - i think i'll keep my dates at the end of March while hoping that this sentence in the article above will actually come true:
If you want all the pool parties, big names, big brands, UMF, muscle beach dancing type action, then it's likely to still be happening at the end of March... If you want to go the actual conference itself, then that will run from 8-12th March

I think Ultra have already been clear they're staying put on Mar 25-27.
I doubt others who have booked venues, DJs, etc. will reschedule either.
so unless you want to attend seminars, you should be fine!

isn´t that "conference"part a thing of the past so probably 95% of visitors
give a F anyway - especially because nowadays that conference-badge doesn´t entitle you
to enter all parties like at the begining ?
 
apparently the author of that (owner of space, miami) has a reputation himself for, well, kind of exactly what he is accusing ultra of.

the logic being he wants his club as full as possible both weeks!!

Id love to do this one year aswell, i imagine it to be quite expensive though!

It gets confusing over 3 different things, the WMC,the partys and the UMF

what the hell is the difference? im well confused lol

Jokeyboy - the dates are usually announced in October

Bones - WMC, the parties and UMF have always the exact same dates except for this year.

This year, the big parties are the same week as UMF... WMC the conference is something you register for and is similar to IMS or ADE.
 
The parties then im asuming they are ticketed? How much do they usually cost? i imagine it to be an expensive week wth the UMF aswell

it depends... the big parties with big names usually require tickets.... there are a lot of smaller parties with djs you might not have heard of that are free.

Ultra if you buy early enough is like $140 for all 3 days, but it sold out and tickets are being scalped for $600.... same for Masquerade Motel (SHM)... they were $40+ and being sold now for $200-$300 as it sold out.

if you want a feel for ticket prices, a lot of tickets are being sold here for Ultra week:

some tickets are sold on RA as well or via other sources.... but the link above has the ticket prices for the most well known parties for the most part. Also, ticket prices rise and it gets closer to the event....
