Complete Noob.....

Okay so i bet there is already a topic for this and i bet i get slated off some people for posting this... but hey ho there we go!! :P

Right since back in 1996 when i had my first taste of commercial club music (in the form of 'Ministry of Sound - Anual II') i have had a passion for my club music... okay okay i know it my have stemmed from commercial stuff... But... (bear with me here!)

I started to do the usual trick of trying out my skills at dj'ing like most i stuck to my bedroom and that is as far as i will ever go (not one up for public humiliation!)

as my passion grew more and more for the island we all love and know as IBIZA, i began dreaming of a day that i could get my self organised and go!

so now that i have completed my degree and turned the ripe old age of 21 i have finally booked myself into an apartment for a week in San Antonio.

Woo Woo (trust me i've been dancing around my house all day! to the sounds of 'Beachball - Nalin and Kane' et al)

BUT!! and here is my problem (took long enough to get here right!)

I need some hints and tips off the more elderly... erm sorry expreianced :P clubbers to fill me in on the hints and tips of surviving a week in ibiza without blowing my bank..... where do i go to get my cheap fags (Marlborough lights preffered)

is it advisable to start at home with a few cans from the offy before hitting a bar then the usual club haunts...

and where should i check out thats not as 'mainstream' or 'commercial'

now please consider the fact i am an unfit lazy sod who doesn't really want to have to treck miles to get to one bar and then treck all the way back....... unless it is well worth it!

Oh and i take it cyber-wear is a big no no?

Hi Mezzanine and welcome :D

I probably fit into the category of eldery clubber :lol:

Cigarettes are much cheaper in Ibiza, buy box of 200 on your first day from any of the supermarkets. Drink in the supermarkets is much cheaper than back in England as well so stock your fridge up on the first night as well ;)

Re pre-clubbing drinks I'm not sure where you're staying in San An but you've got Mambos, Coastline, Kanya etc in the Town. They all hold the pre-club parties so you can sometimes catch DJs like Tongy, Erick etc down there from bout 9pm.

Towards the Bay you've got Bar M, Itaca, Bay Bar etc for pre-club drinks.

The only clubs in San An are Eden and Es Paradis, they tend to cater for younger British crowd and there's nights like Judgement Sunday with Judge Jules there.

You'll need to get taxi to the likes of Amnesia where they have Cream etc and Privilege where they have Manumission (tbc).

At the other side of the island in Ibiza Town you've got Pacha and El Divinos and in Playa den Bossa, the best club on the island imo, Space and just down the road from that DC10. Also check out Bora Bora beach bar in PDB.

Check the calendar on this site for what's on what day/night.

Re cyberwear, errrr don't get me onto that one, I have seen cybers in Ibiza but they're few and far between and they tend to look at bit silly but each to their own ;)

I havn't been this giddy for a long while..... am hoping (secretly knowing) it will live up to expectations

Okay so if cyber wear (goto agree) is a no no... how would you dress me so that i stunned the crowd, yet didn't make a wee plonker out of myself!

C'mon i have to look the dogs danglies and well my style is soooooooo last year!!

Anything goes dresswise in Ibiza, I just always make sure I am cool and comfy cos you're going to be dancing for a long time ;) Plus if you go to the likes of Space and DC10 you'll be dancing in the daytime so you'll need to be nice and cool.

Lots of blokes wear 3/4 trousers, nice shorts, if you're going to wear trousers make sure they are cool. Vests and t-shirts or thin shirts are fine for all the clubs. There really is no dresscodes in Ibiza.

Wear whatever you feel comfy in and you'll go down a treat :D ;)

And one looks like an ibiza virgin then say hello! it's probably 4 of the other loons but take a risk it could be me! hope to see you all out there!

Aw i know i'm a newbie etc etc especially to ibiza.. but i am so loved up with th eplace already!

i just know i will prob get my waffles on and chat complete rubbish to everyone!
