Never thought I'd say it but got my fingers crossed you'll give Betis a real spanking tonight...

Oh and Chelsea win as well of course....

(want us to qualify tonight rather than on the 6th)...

I don't know, why did you have to let Betis beat you the other week  We'd both have been through already if you'd puled oyur figners out. ;)

I know  That performance was pathetic. No excuses.

But if Chelsea win tonight and Liverpool & Betis draw then we're both through (Liverpool on points, Chelsea on goal difference v. Betis assuming they beat Anderlecht).

Then Dec 6 will be all about bragging rights

Musho Betis Musho Betis!! :D :D :D

I went to Barça yesterday, it wasn't the game of the year but it was worth the cold :D

Interesting sig...

Liverpool will rock Betis tonight... but I'm hoping for an Anderlecht victory too :)

All sorted, all good :D

Crouch  Come on Lad! He was unklucky a couple of times tonight though to be fair to him.

Another unfair elimination: betis beat Chelsea and draw (is it correct) liverpool and they are out of the champions :(

Yeah it is a bit unfair. Chelsea could go on to win the champpionship without losing another game but the team that did beat them goes out in the first round. Bestis also lost to both Liverpool and Chelsea though.

Looking at the teams that are through now, it's all the big guns, no suprises this year!

Ajax
Arsenal
Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Chelsea
Inter Milan
Juventus
Liverpool
Lyon
Real Madrid

NO easy ties in the Second round this year.

Ok, Betis beat Chelsea 1-0 at home...... but they lost 4-0 at Stamford Bridge   I think it's perfectly fair that they don't progress.

N8's right - no easy games in the 2nd round (which is why no one cares if Chelsea or Liverpool go top of the group in 2 weeks time).

Though it'd be fun if Artmedia Bratislava qualifies... a total underdog team named after an advertising agency :!:

I wonder what would you said if it was Chelsea the one eliminated

If it was because of that game in Sevilla, I would say they got what they deserved for playing so poorly.

But Chelsea was never going to get eliminated in this group 8)

I mean if it was Chelesea the one eliminated, I'm not sure about your reaction.

Anyway, as we say in spanish, don't sing victory too early

went to the game last night................

betis fans were top class................loads of banter before hand (chance to practice my spanish and confess my love for joaquin) and then after the game there so much mutual respect, it was brilliant.

as is a tradition at many a european game at anfield..........the singing of the opposition team's name...............

i'm sure us chantin "betis betis betis" sounded as bizarre as them chantin "lee-ber-poool lee-ber-poool".

brilliant fans :D :D :D joaquin is a legend too (con ojos como un lobo!)

you could hear the betis fans quite clearly for large parts of the game 8) .

Betis problem wasnt the match yesterday or losing to Chesea 4-o, it was losing at home to Liverpool that caused them the most damage, plus having so many players injured.

Interesting to see that Barca are favourites to win it 8) :

Barcelona 7/2
Chelsea 4/1
Juventus 6/1
Inter 10/1
Milan 10/1
Bayern Munich 11/1
Lyon 11/1
Arsenal 14/1
Liverpool 14/1
Real Madrid 14/1
Manchester Utd 18/1
Schalke 40/1
Villarreal 40/1
PSV 50/1
Ajax 66/ 1

I have to point this out as its not often you get that happening in this country where theres obviously massive amount of money going on Chelsea + other british teams
